Few days ago I got some acne on my forehead , I don't know why , and I've heard that Salicylic acid is help to get rid of acne. Luckily that my sister has a St. Ives apricot scrub for oil or acne Prone skin. I ask her if I can try it for just a little she said Okay.
First I apply Jojoba oil and massage it on my face lightly. Then I wash it off with clean water but still got some oil on my face.
I apply St.Ives Apricot Scrub on my face(lightly), especially acne. I wait for about 5 minutes and I clean it off with water and follow up with honey soap. 2 Days later all acne are dried out. I was . IT WORKS!!!
So I just want to share this with everyone. Has anyone done this before? |

That is great it worked for you. From you description you used the Apricot Scrub as a mask type treatment. Very interesting. The only time I have used St. Ives Apricot Scrub was a few years ago as an actual scrub. I found the texture was to coarse and actually scratched my face. You have put a whole new usage to this St. Ives product. |

I agree with what Winnie said, the scrub is too coarse as a scrub. I actually use it on my knees and thighs. But as a mask.... sounds good. Thank you for the review, Jira. |

Yes the scrub is coarse for me too so I don’t rub it on very hard and it works for me. |

I've always found that same scrub to be too harsh for my face, even if I'm gentle like you, but I LOVE using the stuff as a body scrub. Works REALLY well for bacne, the dreaded "buttne", and keratosis pilaris in general. I use it in tandem with my scrubby gloves that you can buy at the drugstore, and it really helps exfoliate my body skin. I also think it helps with razor rash on my legs if I use it before shaving. Unfortunately I stopped because I don't like all the SLS and parabens, but I do miss the results and sometimes I still cave and buy some. |

That scrub (St Ives w/ SA) is my HG! I use it about 3 times a week....I love the way it makes my face feel and it really does heal blemishes....as long as you do not scrub too hard. |

Is this scrub reformulated?
Cos the only St Ives scrub I used was very coarse as many of you have said, but recently I saw that they have re-packaged it and it says on the tube its smoother. |

They didn't just reformulate, Yeahyeah, they created a bunch of different "versions". So there's a "smooth" version with totally ineffective jojoba or polyethylene beads, there's an Oily/Acne Prone version that contains salicylic acid and the original too-coarse-IMO kernel grains, and there are at least two other versions if I recall. I'm sure they've reformulated slightly, but I find the one with SA to be just perfect for the body use I stated above - but I wouldn't use it on my face, too rough and even though it feels like it's doing great things, I'm sure it's actually aggravating my capillaries. |

I think any product addict worth her weight in salt has tried this at one time or another. I have used both as a facial scrub and a body scub and like it both ways. I find the grains to be a bit large for my face and there is a bit of oil in there too but I use a great toner after and sometimes wash again. One product that I like for exfoliation is the Decleor Purete Exfoliante - Natural Micro-Smoothing Cream very fine graules and smoothes nicely. |

I love using this scrub as a mask but for the back only!! My back has some acne but lots of dead skin i can feel it and this scrub is lovely to remove them and making my skin nice and soft!! I usually leave it on for a good 5-8 minutes any longer I would feel a slight tingle to burning sensation. If leaving on the face make sure you don'tleave it long over 5 mins remember the active ingredient is SA even tho it's at a low concentration it can still do bad then good!! |
