I have used the La Prairie Rose Illusion and the Clarins one - I had a red reash under my eyes.

One needs a special primer for the eye area? What makes it different/special? Can I just use my regular primer. I hope ladies with experience on this will soon weigh in. |

I just dont see the point of a separate under eye...primer? Seems like another way to for these beauty companies to squeeze cash out of consumers. Are these suppose to have actives in them or are they mainly for lines? I think I would rather spend my time/money on a good eye treatment that would *actually* reduces fine lines rather than fill them in with silicone...
Not sure if they would be drying, maybe with constant use, millia seems possible if you are daily placing something as occlusive as "cones" there.
Not much help sorry. |

I use Olay Regenerist Serum Fragrance Free over entire face (undereyes & eyelids too) it has plenty of silicones in it and thats what a primer is, silicones! I like it topped with a moisturizing eyecream, smooth finish, other good ingredients in it, treatment & primer in one! |

The best primer I've used for under my eyes (and on my oily t-zone) is ModelCo Face Base. It doesn't cause any milia for me, and when I wear a concealer over it, there's no fading or creasing at all..even in hot, humid weather.
It's a little pricey at $26, but the tube (1.5oz)will last quite awhile. hth |

If the product is correctly formulated, any silicone should dissipate after application as it is normally only added to enhance the actual application and make it glide on easily. Unfortunately, not all products get the right formulation and the silicone can remain on the skin which then clogs pores. |
