I love this cream and its scent - It contains 25% shea butter and is a body saver in the winter months. However, the price tag is not inconsequent. Does anybody know of something similar that is cheaper? Alternatively, does anybody have a homemade recipe that would be close to it? TIA. |

The body butters for the Body Shop are nice and not as expensive. |

And Candessence Body Butters are even better than the Body Shop ones!
(Plus much wider and more delicious choice of scents.) |

It might take her a while to get around to it. I've just ordered loads of different scents from Candy - great Christmas presents! ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

I like this body moisturizer a lot! The smell isn't fantastic but it does moisturize. It didn't take care of my razor rash/burn though. Nothings been able to cure that except Ojon's Tawaka Rejuvenating cream! |

I would highly recommend Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula. It is a great product, reasonably priced and does as good a job, if not better than the higher priced body butters |

a lot of people have recommended it. Where can you pick it up from? Local drugstores and supermarkets? |

I really like Jergens Shea Butter Cream, but I like the Jergens Shea Butter lotion more. I find the lotion sinks into my skin much better. A few months ago I purchased the Soy Fabulous Whipped Body Butter from BOBE. I love this body butter!! Sinks in really well, the texture is amazing, and there are lots of scents to chose from. |

Do the Bobe products smell better, because the scent of L'Occitane's Ultra rich shea butter moisturizer is a bit off putting for me. |

Yes, they smell really good. She has 50 scents to chose from. My favorite is the Raspberry Lemonade. I've also purchased the body scrub, and lip balms from her. The owners name is Marlese. Her customer service is amazing. She answers her e-mail asap. I just placed another order with BOBE and I'm now going to try the body butter in 7-up pound cake, grapefruit supreme, and va va vanilla. She was having problem with her web site this week so I just placed my order by phone. My last order with bobe was placed on a Sunday and the package showed up that Friday.

On another note- I purchased L'Occitane's shea butter lip balm a few months ago and the smell put me off too, and it tastes awful. |

Thanks Northerngirl! I'm looking into it. And I agree with you about the shea butter lip balm. While I think it did moisturize fairly well, the taste reminded me of candles. Not a good thing. |

I think its a really inexpensive way to get some good hydration for your skin. It always gets me through the cold winters. |

On cold days in Ohio like today, I could really use some. They sell it at local drugstores and supermarkets don't they? |

Regarding the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Cream and/or Lotion...it is available here in Vancouver at Walmart, so I would think most people in Canada & the States would have no trouble finding it. I am sure most large Drug Store chains would also carry it. FYI the company is is trademarked by E.T. Browne Drug Co. Inc, in both the States (New Jersey) and the U.K. (London) |
