Philosophy's Vitamin C Serum>I have been using this for about 5 days now, applying in the morning with my day creme. But, my face is red as a beet now, and burning! Has anyone had this experience, TIA

ValrieM,

I split your question from the Copper Peptide thread. I think you will get more responses.

Sounds like you are having a reaction to Vit. C Serum. I have no idea what % Philosphy's C Serum is. IMO you should not use it until your face settles down. Once you are back to normal introduce the C again every other morning. If you get irritation again I would discontinue the product.

Do you have an ingredient list for the Philosophy C? Perhaps there is something else in the product irritating to you.

Thanks for getting me in the right thread. I'm new here and just getting the hang of it. Confused
It's called Hope and a Prayer and you mix it with sunscreen or moisturizer. Ingredients are:
ascorbic acid,panthenol,zinc pca,copper pca,camillia oleifera extract,dipotassium glycyrrhizinate,arginine,cysteine hel,aloe barbadensis,leaf juice

There might be an issue with copper. I thought copper and vit. C don't go together, they counteract each other. That's why copper peptides and vit. C are recommended to be used at opposite times of the day.

valrieM,
I've had this problem before with several different formulations of vit C. You need to stop using it, and give your skin a chance to heal. In my experience, you have to stop using the vit C altogether to get your skin healthy again.

The problem with mixing it yourself, is that it's hard to control the percentage. After your skin heals, if you want to try again, try a smaller amount of vit C in proportion to your day creme. In this case, more is not better! Rolling Eyes

I've had good results with Professional Solutions Triple C, which you can order from these two sites: www.skincarecentral.biz www.dianayvonne.com

I've heard that the PSF one is buffered, and therefore gentle, but have not tried it myself:

These are not cheap, and must be used fairly quickly due to short shelf life, so I suggest you order samples if you decide to try them.

HTH! Very Happy
