Hi, I am on my first week on Obagi and of course starting to peel. I can't keep my make up on! and God knows I need it. The combination of products and I think particularly the sunblock #6 leaves my skin feeling a little oily, I wonder if I can use their other sunblock although it doesn't have hydroquinone and does not leave my skin oily. But I do not want to disrupt the process. However, back to the makeup, is liquid better or creamy or powder? Help!!!

Try a mineral make up...it's really light.

Thanks, Queenbee. I will give that a try. Have you tried any?

Yes, however, I would suggest that you purchase the samples to get the correct skin tone before spending "big" money and it not match.

Here are sites that are giving free samples but you have to pay for the shipping. However, some sites have samples for less than $2.00 but I purchased the sample kits because I could try a variety of foundation shades to suit my skin tone.

Sampler Kits--

http://www.signatureminerals.com/free-samples.html (free, you pay shipping)

http://www.everydayminerals.com/g?t=kits (free, you pay shipping)
www.lumierecosmetics.com|

monave.com ($10.00)

Sampler Kit ~5.00 (you pay shipping)

Many ladies like Bare Esceuntals or Bare Minerals, however, I would go to the local Sephora if you have one and have them match your skin tone or purchase a sampler set off ebay which is much cheaper than the actual website.

Sorry, I didn't really answer your question but I am currently waiting sampler sets from the first two websites because they have more shades for women of color.

I use Laura Mercier mineral make-up and it works beautifully. i just buff it on to cover the redness and it conceals peeling as well. I have found that liquid make up is useless and doesn't stay in place when you are in the "out with the old" phase of obagi.

Thanks to all for your suggestions! I am kind of broke after buying Obagi so I bought some Physician's Formula at MMU at CVS. It works okay but obviously not the greatest. There seems to be a good promo on the Internet for ID Bare Minerals but I too am concerned about the color. I am from Puerto Rico and have light olive skin like Jessica Alba or so. Also the Obagi has made my face a little lighter which always has been lighter than my body to begin with. Go Figure! I usually buy stuff like Medium Beige, True Beige... Anybody know if they run light or dark. I am confused if to order Medium or Tan. Also any of you on Obagi right now?

Be careful of the internet offers for id minerals--they keep sending you the products monthly or bi-monthly and some people have had a hassle cancelling the "membership."

Thanks Beep I saw that. It gives you information on how to join a club if you want but I will double check before I click. I am still unsure if to go with that unless as Queenbluebee says and can go Sephora and try the color. Who knows. Right now what is really hurting are my eyes. I didn't know I was supposed to do Obagi under the eyes and I just started and frankly they look terrible. Very dry, super wrinkly.. I hope it will just peel and reveal a beautiful me.

Yeah, around the eyes can look pretty grim during the first 6 weeks of Obagi. It does got better, though.

If you have a lot of burning around your eyes, back off the blender and retin-a for a couple of days. And do not rub the flakies off, because the skin underneath is too delicate and you will damage it.

Mariel7:

I used the Obagi Program (Clear, Blender/Retin-A, Action, etc) for several years and finally had to stop because I just couldn't deal with the constant cycles of peeling skin. My skin never adjusted to a level where it looked consistantly good. It would be a week of really nice skin then a week of so-so skin, then a week of horrible peeling skin. I hope you have better luck with it than I did. As far as which make-up worked best while on Obagi, I would have to say for me it was Liquid Mineral foundation. The powder made the peeling even more obvious on me. It could just be my skin type, I am fair with normal to dry skin and oily T-zone. I really like Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics. I usually purchase Youngblood off of Ebay for the best deals.

I am on Day 17 of the Obagi Nu Derm treatment and have been using a yellow based concealer from Benefit to hide the redness before putting on a cream based Dermalogica foundation, topped off with light powder. It seems to work.

Thanks to all for the advice. So far I haven't found anything that's working. I have been trying the mineral stuff from Physician's Formula as the Obagi left me kind of broke. I will try their liquid mineral and see. I know it is not the best but I am hoping to get something better next month. I went through my budget this month. I do like the mineral stuff but I don't know which one or which kind to get yet. I would appreciate all advice.
