Ok so i got this one when i returned the facial brush. It was inside the packet so i did not get to touch it at the shop to see how it feels. However it looked quite soft within the packet but what you see is not always what you get. On the packet it says Gentle Facial Wash cloth, to use to wash off your mask or as an everyday face wash cloth while cleansing. It said it is very gentle and so silky flannel wash cloth. The sales assistant i spoke to see if there was a sample round she said unfortunatly there wasnt but she said it is very very soft and smooth. Another SA also said this one is soooo very gental and silky soft and said jokingly if you come back saying its not il have to do something about you.

Ok so i finally decided to give it a try today while cleansing. And i have to say i was quite dissapointed!. It is not as I expected. Now yes its smooth to touch when i opened it. And yes on the hand it feels soft and smooth. But when i used it on face while cleansing it felt again harsh. Not as harsh as the facial brush (review in another thread) but still harsh. I would say i would not use this as an everyday facial wash cloth while cleansing cause i felt it to be rough on my facial skin and abit harsh to use. For taking for masks the face cloth might be ok. SO i would say if you have a thick layer of something on the face, this cloth might then be ok but once the mask is off you will find it harsh. I have not tried it with a mask yet but thats the other alternative i can think of in terms of what im gona do with this cloth. Or else as a body scrub hmm but i already have a body scrub for now

Texture and feel: Even though on the packet it says silky soft facial flannel wash cloth. It is not of flannel material. The closest i can describe it is like rubber material. You know the rubber material inside part of divers suit is made of? So yes its smooth to touch by hand but it is not flannel it is like a rubber material. It feels soft to touch by hand but i would not describe it as SILKY SOFT as stated on the packet. Neither is the cloth soft on the face AT ALL.
By the way it comes in white color.

Cost: $9.00 NZ. It is quite expensive. The size is i think 20cm by 20cm. I would purchase something regardless of cost if it is GOOD/EXCELLENT but this i find it to be waste of money.

Comparison to other facial cloths: I have used a normal cotton facial towel before on the face which i bought from the $2 shop. I would say i found the facial towel to be much more gentler than this!!! Exclamation

Overall: I think i will not buy anything else for face in terms of brush or cloth cause i think nothing can be gentler than your fingertips!!! And for exfoliation i think il just stick with my EpidermxII.

Really i just think now other than your fingertips and your usual cleanser you dont need anything else during cleansing hmm

Lesson learned: Im not buying anything else from the BODY SHOP. It is a waste of money. The products are just all hype in terms of what stated on packaging and promoted by SA.
The only thing i may buy from there is possibly the fragrance but that is it!

I dont think i will go back to return the cloth. I just feel abit uncomfortable going back again as i went to return the brush. And i mite get excuses from the SA that i have opened it and used it once already. So cant be bothered with that drama again. Therefore I wil keep this cloth on the side as a body cloth to use during shower or to take off facial mask when i apply one.

Tip for members: Dont waste your money on this Exclamation

I bought the microfiber cloth from NCN(havent received it yet)but i was thinking why cant you just use a white cotton face cloth? Its soft yet could still do exfoliation. And also they were saying about the microfiber cloth to just rinse out with soap and water but I would feel better about washing it in a washing machine to get rid of germs,no?

Hi lucy

I havent got the cloth but I have read that some members actually put the cloth in the washing machine after 10 uses, due to all the makeup that's left on the cloth and its not possible to hand wash it off with soap.

Hi simran
Thanks for reviewing the cloth as you said so in the facial brush thread.
You have confirmed it---Body shop is a waste of money! I havent been in one for years cos most the products there are not suitable for my skin but since reading more skincare forums, some people love the body butters and I did contemplate on going in there to see if I could pick up anything...but you have totally made me not want to visit Body Shop!
Thanks

yy

Thanks for an honest review simran, sounds like you may help some of us keep the lemmings caged in Laughing I've often wondered about how efficient these microfiber washclothes really are but considered the point moot [at least for me] since I use EpidermxII as well.

I'm very pro-facecloths these days! I stopped using them about 10 years ago on the advise of an older female cousin, who has the loveliest 'peaches and cream' skin I have ever seen. She's in her late 60's now and still has beautiful skin. She said her dermatologist told her that facecloths harbor lots of germs and one should not use them. So, I stopped. But, a few weeks ago I tested one after using my PSF green tea cleanser, and the amount of makeup and 'stuff' on the cloth made me realize that the cleanser was not doing its job. No wonder I've been having breakouts; it's probably because my face wasn't clean!

I found a good deal on facecloths at a dollar store and now can use a clean one every day!

Yes, this is from the description.

These micro-fibers are many times thinner than a human hair and are able to penetrate oil films. This hydro-mechanical process breaks the surface tension of the oils that bond makeup to the skin while the fibers gentally exfoliate. The combination of warm water and micro-fibers turn the makeup into an emulsion that is easily swept away by the mitt.

Some people still use their cleansers with it, so I'm going to try both ways and see which works better.
