I have been using MMU for about 7 years now. My sister just started a month ago with ordering samples and she thinks that she maybe allergic to MMU. She breaks out in little blackheads and little bumps all over her face. What ingredients in MMU could be causing this? She did not try BE because the bismuth made my skin red. |

Do you use a primer underneath your MMU? |

Apart from bismuth, mica can also cause sensitivity reactions, usually itch and redness. Apparently people who are allergic to nickel in costume jewellery are also more prone to mica sensitivity.Your sister can try different formulations of MMU. For example, some have lower mica content and different types of mica. Suggestions are Cory cosmetics and Fyrinnae, who make mica-free mineral foundations and Meow cosmetics who make a formulation for sensitive skin (Pampered Puss). The suggestion of a primer is also good. Mary Bannister makes a silk and pearl cream with BHA which can help to counteract blackheads, it's a good base for MMU. Her website iswww.silkenpearl.com, but she is currently very back-logged for orders since she had to help out her husband in his office for a few weeks. |
