I need some advice on lightening and removing scar marks from my arms. I have had mosquito bite marks on my visit to India, 9 years ago; and also burn marks whilst cooking at home.
I have tried MD Formulations....no good.
Any advice would be most helpful.

I know of a set of products that will reduce your scarring. One works to protect your skin during the day, adn the night formula has vitamins in it that will repair your skin while you sleep. Reducing scars will take time, but with consistency these products will help you. You can check them out at http://marykay.com/PWS/SkinCare/AntiAging/563500.aspx?Moniker=faithe. Try them Risk-FREE. Mention that you're part of this forum and I'll ship them to you for FREE! -candice |

There are several products on the market for scaring. I know that vit. K works really well. It takes some patients. I have used MaryKay products before and know none that remove scaring. MaryKay products are nice but what I don't like is that they don't list the ingredients. I am sure some of the long time members of this forum can help you out. I will also do my research. |

I am also in a similar situation. I have terrible scars because of ingrown hair on my legs. Although my scars arent completely gone, I have used just pure cocoa butter and that helps to lighten them. Try that and see!

Let me know what MaryKay products you need ingredients for and I'll get it to you.
The Night-time formula WILL work to reduce the appearance of your scars!

Thanks ...everyone for all that information.....i'll check it out and tell you what i have decided.
I did look accross various websites in the past, and noticed that most of the oils like bio oil and rosehip oil (both of which i have tried for more that 4-5 months) are used mainly for keloid scars. The problem is that i do have scarring , but the scarring is not raised....just a flat dark brown scar that stands out because it's a scar.
When i did ask for advice in the past, and tried out various products (the above and msm cream and silicon sheets and.......need i go on.... ..i think the reason why it did not work.......was because these products work better on raised scars as opposed to flat smooth scars.
I'll get back to you when i have decided what to try. Thanks for all your help.
Regards

Karina,
I would suggest trying exfoliation and products with Glycolic Acid. Also, try regular body brushing. This increases blood circulation to the area (as well as exfoliating), which might in turn convince your skin to heal quicker (my theory and I'm not sure how true that is). But I would suggest you try something like the MD Formulations Face & Body scrub and also use a moisturiser with AHAs as well (plenty of these on the market, ranging from Eucerin to Peter Thomas Roth).

Be careful! You can damage your skin with too much exfoliating...consider the method you're using and how frequently you use that method.
Also be sure to protect your skin AFTER you exfoliate, especially if its skin that is exposed to UV ![Exclamation](images/smiles/exclaim.gif) |
