in the last few months, a huge amount of stress and using dr. hauschka cleansing milk/cream resulted in me having the worst break out of my life... before, id had mild acne with hormonal breakouts and maybe one cystic acne at one time, but this time my entire face was covered with them- i mean the cheeks were filled, it was painful! i chalk this up to recent stress AND the dr hauschka because it was the only new thing i introduced, and i kept using it thinking the breakouts were purging, until it had been 3 months and what i thought was purging had turned into painful cystic acne... anyway, ive managed to get the cystic bumps under control with alpha hydrox 10% and also changing my diet / detoxing (always has a good effect on my skin.. i wanted to go to a derm but the wait was 4 months!) but the problem is... im now covered in red & purple scars on pale skin!! especially disheartening bc the stress that caused the breakouts was my job, which i quit, and now im looking for a new job, but when i go to interviews my face looks awful! ive run a couple of searches here and for the past few months ive tried aspirin mask (with yogurt, green tea, honey, lemon juice), acv toner, avene diacneal, neutrogena acne fading mark, juice beauty green apple peel, mint julep mask. all have little or no effect on the scars!
anyone have any other suggestions or prior experience? im 24 with combo skin, asian. for those of you who live in japan, hk, taiwan, i will be back in asia this weekend so suggestions for brands i can get there are also very welcome!! |

Oh my goodness, you poor girl! Actually, believe it or not, the EXACT same thing happened to me. After a full month of using Dr. H cleansing cream and cleansing milk, I had the WORST cystic acne outbreak of my whole life!! It was awful, and even after I stopped using the Dr. H products and got my skin under control again, my face was covered in awful red marks. Thankfully, I happened upon Naturderm products. By using a combination of Triple Lavender Face Foam, Epidermx II microderm scrub, and Chrysalyx and Naturdermx moisturizers, I got rid of all my scars in just a couple months. Best of all, I started to see results in less than a week! You can buy all the products I've mentioned atwww.greatnewskin.com , and you can order samples too so you can try before you buy. Here's a picture of my face BEFORE using Naturderm products:
And here are a couple pictures after using Naturderm products:

This is also good advice-- I think this serum helps a lot with healing. However, I have come to the conclusion that the much cheaper version from Zenbiotic is equally effective. I've been using it recently and have found it to be every bit if not more effective than the PSF version. You can find Zenbiotic Oxygen Replenish atwww.zenbiotic.com . |

Hi there, Liz. After reading your info on the Naturederm products, I clicked your link and went on to their website. I must say, it seems quite impressive! Do you use these products on a daily basis? Do you credit these products alone for changing your skin? Your skin does look beautiful, by the way! |

Thank you, Lefemme! As for whether or not I credit these products alone, yes and no. In order to get my cystic acne under control I needed the help of prescription products, however, when it came to the face full of red marks that remained after the acne was under control, nothing touched em until I started using the Naturderm products every day. Before I started the Naturderm products, Amy from Naturderm told me she was very confident that they would help my scars. I have to be honest, I almost didn't believe her as it sounded too good to be true, but I gave it a shot and started using all 4 products every day, and honest-to-goodness, within a week my red marks started just melting off my face like some kind of miracle! |

WOW
Liz you look amazing!
You make me want to go back to the epidermx II...
How long did it actually take to remove ALL the scars on your face? And do you think that if say for example, if you only used the cleanser and the microdermabrasion cream, you would look as clear and beautiful as you are now?
amima aya---sorry to be hijacking your thread...Im dealing with some really stubborn red scars at the mo too, cant seem to get rid of it even though I use peels regularly and BHA lotion. Hope you're successful with the Naturderm! |

Thank you, yeahyeah! If I had to guess how long it took to get rid of ALL my acne scars, including the REALLY deep ones, I'd say maybe 5-6 months, however, the majority of them were gone in just a couple months with just one or two of the deep ones remaining, and so I found that much more manageable. As for which products to use, I would guess that if I only used the cleanser and the E2 it would have at least helped somewhat, however, IMO the two most important products from the line for fading red marks are the E2 and the Chrysalyx. The Chrysalyx was a big surprise for me because I honestly just thought it was a run-of-the-mill, nice-smelling lotion, however, when used in conjunction with the E2, it fades those darn red marks like you wouldn't believe! |

iaimei, like most great beauty products I use, I heard about them right here at EDS. Actually, Amy came here and offered free samples of EpidermxII and Chrysalyx I believe, and I contacted her and let her know the skin problems I was struggling with. She told me that she was absolutely positive that if I used her line I would see results, and I figured I had nothing to lose so I gave it a shot and was very pleasantly surprised. |

I've been using EpidermX II for about 3-4 months now and I love it. I've been on the fence about Chrysalyx but after seeing Liz's before and after pics, I'm going to order it with my next EpidermX II order.
Thanks for sharing the pics Liz! |

From personal experience I would have to say that E2 doesn't really help with really bad acne. For the past 3-4 months I've been suffering a very bad breakout on my chin, used E2 (as well as God knows how many other stuff, my bathroom cupboard is overflowing) but it didn't really help, so I've used it on my stretch marks instead. Like Liz, I then went the prescription route and now things are getting better with clindamycin and tretinoin.
But I am left with these horrible purple scars all over my chin, my chin is now a totally different colour it's so bad, and although my E2 is finished and I wasn't planning on re-purchasing, after hearing Liz's experience, I'm seriously tempted to give it a try. I still have the other 3 products (Lavender Foam, Chrysalyx and Natudermx) and I did use them but gave up along with E2. Maybe I'll re-try these again consistently first, if result are encouraging I'll re-purchase the E2 as well. |

Cahoot, I didn't see much results with EpidermX II until I increased the usage to twice a day.
How often were you using the EpidermX before? |

Yen
I only used it once a day in the evenings (I'm such a sucker for instructions! ) (i used to be a lawyer, perhaps that'll explain things!! haha)
Do you think using it twice a day is better? If so I'll place my second order now! I'm slightly worried about over-exfoliation though because i'm on retin-a at the moment and planning to incorporate mandelic acid in my routine (alternate nights with the retin-a) so just worried that together with E2 this might be overkill and my skin will hate me forever and my face will fall off! |

Finacea Gel helps to get rid of the red spots. I got a prescription from my dermatologist. |

Cahoot, I started off using it a couple of times a week and gradually working up to using it twice a day. You may want to start off doing that too and see how your skin tolerates it. |

Manslayerliz, how do you work these products in with Tazorac (I think I read you use that)? What is your routine with it? It all looks tempting! Also, have there been any complaints of anyone breaking out from it? Thanks! |

Hi Charis! These products work great with Taz-- actually, I noticed that when I started using them, my taz worked even better than before! What I do is this: at night, I wash my face with the Lavender Foam, and then do an E2 scrub. Afterwards I dry my face and apply my taz, and usually I give it about 15 min or so, then I dampen my face with Caudalie Grape water and apply the Chrysalyx and sometimes Naturdermx. HTH! |

Thanks Manslayerliz! Is the lavender foam anything special? Is it worth buying? Also, in the morning do you use vitamin C with these products? Do they work together? Thanks for your help - I appreciate it! |

manslayerliz thanks so much for sharing this information and for the pictures! Your skin looks amazing and so glowing!
I was wondering: I have rosacea, so my face is pretty much red all over, but some years ago I had a really bad case of acne that has left me with scars and really unever skin. Do you know if I could use these products without worsening the rosacea, or if they would help me with that as well? |

Just a note of caution- after seeing the great results manslayer go with the Naturderm products, I got a sample of Chrysalix, Naturderm and Epidermx2. They smell wonderful, feel great and because they worked so well for manslayer, I just went to town, putting on without spot testing.
I broke out terribly. Really bad, not the purging stuff. I'm still using and liking the epidermx; I've tried the other two, Naturderm and Chrysalix several more times, and same thing. Bad breakouts. But just so you know- I have super oily, sensitive, easily clogged pores. I think it's worth a try if you aren't super oily already- just learn from my mistake and test it out first in a small area.
Good luck!

I also broke out terribly after I incorporated Triple Lavender Face Foam with EpidermixII and Chrysalyx. Things were going fine untill I started the face foam.It took MONTHS to rid my face of the deep-rooted acne I got.Now I am having great success with Jan Marini Bioglycolic Cleanser,Bioclear Lotion,MSM and Vit B5 supplements. This summer is the first time in 10 years I have been acne-free! |
