I had read about this somewhere (InStyle, I think) and I was totally psyched. I love products that truly add gloss, but I never like the texture that most impart (my hair is dry and coarse so in order to get a real shine, I generally have to goop on so much that it makes me look oily - not worth it). So I was thrilled to see a product that was meant to be rinsed out, but would still allegedly impart a gloss.
Lucky for me, before I had to buy a full-sizer, I got a small 4-5 uses bottle as one of the freebie samples at Sephora (and they told me I got the last one, too!). So I tried using it pretty consistently for three washes straight, and then I tried mixing it up to see if that helped. No matter what I did, this stuff had absolutely NO glossing effect on my hair, and no conditioning/smoothing either, for the record. It was just a totally pointless step, that probably put a bunch of ineffective but still drying silicone polymers on my hair.
It's funny, the ingredients to this don't look all that dissimilar from many other potions that I found to be useful styling aids, but that was just not the case for this item. I've tried his Proteine di Jasmine spray, which is good for some things and meh for others, but at least smelled fab - and I've tried samples of the Jasmine Serum, which is like any other serum but yummier-smelling. But this product just had no redeeming value - I don't even recall it smelling that great. All in all, a thumbs-down for Luce.
Hope this helps someone out there avoid a waste of $25USD! And of course, I'd be curious to hear if anyone had a different experience with this than me! |
