diaan46 you can have my stomach and I can garentee you weight loss!! I suffer from IBS and have the oposite problem, I also live in a house full of dieters
Apple Cider Vinegar is good for weight loss, it also helps with a multitude of other ailments such as Flatulence, skin hair & nails, heartburn....etc
I think it is recomended to put a capful in a glass of water with a little honey and sip throughout your meal.
Coconut Oil also burns fat, I use this for cooking as it really helped with my IBS, the side effect is you lose weight. |

Just a thought - If you are eating sensibly and are getting a reasonable amount of exercise but the weight still wont budge, you may want to consider getting your hormone levels tested. Unfortunately (the plight of many women) as we get older the imbalance of hormones makes weight loss extremely difficult. Most often it is due to a lack of progesterone rather than estrogen that causes the host of nasty symptoms (weight gain, irritability, fatigue, hormonal acne, hair thinning/loss, mood swings, sleep disorders, hot flashes, etc) that plague us. One natural remedy that can assist in eliminating a lot of these symptoms (including weight gain) is daily use of natural progesterone cream. Check out the book by Dr. John Lee titled 'What your Doctor may not tell you about perimenopause' It is an excellent read and discusses the causes and solutions for mid-life weight gain. I am 39 and had my last child 3 years ago - let me tell you it has been impossible to get rid of the last 7 lbs that continually hangs on. I was lucky my whole life and never had to endure weight issues but the older I am getting the harder it is to actually lose weight easily - Things are changing...bummer. |

My bf takes Alli and carb blocker before a heavy meal like dinner. He also exercises at least 4 times a week for at least an hour (usually a combination of cardio and weights or other exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, etc). After nearly 3 months, he has now lost all the love handle, and his stomach is so flat. I can't believe how effective this combination is. I don't think it will work if you don't exercise though. Also, he has not taken Alli and carb blocker daily. This past week, he only took them one time. If he's eating healthy, he won't take them. He takes them when he wants to splurge, and it's usually when we eat out. I think the stuff really works! My bf is a living proof. |

Hi diann! Your accent is so cute! Yeah, all those diet pills are a lot of hooey, in my opinion. They don't get at the root of the problem anyway. I've lost at least 4 tons and then gained it right back when the pills wear off. You can't take them forever! I know the formula: "exercise more, eat less", hey! I'm in the Health Care profession myself! But sticking to the plan?? fuggedaboudit! I love to gorge just as much as anyone! I even make myself sick eating so much! I only weigh 130# but it's not muscle, just a marshmallow body! I hate to exercise! Hate it. So boring. I know: 'find something you love to do and do it!" I Like books. Lots of exercise there!
Diaan, I feel your pain. Wish I had an answer but I'm lost too!!!

diaan46 is English not your first language? I can't understand what you're saying.
I think you're after tips on losing weight? If so then I'm that very person to give tips having tried every diet under the sun!
My tip is DON'T DIET! DIETS DON'T WORK! Forget them, eat heathily and take exercise and the weight should come off. I'm finally taking my own advice now. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Hmmm.. While it's great that this method is working for your boyfriend, I would not recommend it for anyone else. Alli is not meant to be used when you feel like "splurging" on your diet.
In fact, quite the opposite. Half the effects from Alli come from the fact that it forces you onto a diet. Because if you eat more than the recommended amount of fat (which is not that much) while taking Alli, you will experience anal leakage. Which is gross even to type. But that's what happens. There are warning and info about it all over the product. If you google it, you will find nearly every review mentions it.
So taking Alli before having a big meal out at a restaurant would be pretty disastrous, not to mention humiliating. |

I only started two Mondays ago and All I do is walk one hour every morning.
I wear a calorie counter monitor to loose weight by the numbers. I have already lost one pant size and 9 pounds. I am a woman and have three kids and this is the method I use when I gain weight.. I am now at a size two and everyone is always amazed that I have had three kids. This is what I do below when I throw on a few extra pounds. It always works..No diet pills, no energy drinks..just me walking and getting the water I need. Of course I watch what I eat and the Lean Cuisine meals are great for that since the calories per box are 180 to 380 per box. Just make sure you eat healthy every three to four hours so your body will perform at its max.
Here it is:
Helpful Tips for weight loss:
1)A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch
Keep to a 1,200 food intake
Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) ...and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn't seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.
I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127
2) Most people do not get enough water in their system. Water is your body's principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60 percent of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.
Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. To determine if you are getting enough water use this simple formula.. Take your weight, for example 150 pounds and divide by 2. Take your answer which is 75 lbs and change it to ounces, in this case 75 ounces. That is how many ounces of water you need a day. Your body performs mostly on water. If you make sure you get enough water everyday your body will perform at top notch and your body will no longer have the cravings of junk food. You will have a better performing body system to help you work out and feel better thru out your day. |

Hmm...my bf did it throughout the 2-week trip to Thailand, and there was no disaster. I guess it really depends on how each person reacts to Alli. I read that someone would constantly go to the bathroom after taking it, but that is not the case for my bf. I even tried it, and I didn't get anything uncontrollable. It is a safe product. Everyone needs to splurge every once in a while, and if you want to take Alli to prevent 30% of fat to enter your body, and you have money to buy the product, and you also don't have some severe reaction to it (like serious diarrhea), then go for it. You're not hurting anyone else, and you're certainly not hurting yourself. But then Alli is not for everyone. Use your own judgment. I'm just sharing this story, so you hear about my bf's experience with the stuff. If you choose not to try it, it's cool. Also, I can't stress enough that exercise is extremely important, and my bf exercises really hard at the gym. He goes at least 4-5 times a week, and really concentrates on getting the workouts done.
Also, yesterday he showed me 5 more independent studies done by various universities' med schools like UCLA, Georgetown, etc, on Carb Blocker (Phase2). All the studies indicated that the groups taking Phase2 carb blockers were able to lose weight, for ex, 5 lbs in 30 days. This is without exercises. The placebo groups lost 0.5 lbs within the same time. The studies seem pretty encouraging. |

I try to eat sensibly, avoid sugar and simple carbs and take Alli.
The scale shows 5 pounds but I'm definitely down 2 sizes. (I'm petite).
I noticed that the people having "treatment effects" on Alli also had it after a huge fat-filled meal like hamburger and fries.
If you are having a super high fat meal - don't take Alli. It's as simple as that.
A big plus for me is that I am forced to think about my meals |

Rjez, glad that Alli is working for you, too. Because I saw my bf got a great result, I just tried Alli, too. I gained 3 lbs from my trip to Thailand, and have been exercising like crazy but the lbs aren't budging, so hopefully this will kick the 3 lbs out of the door. I feel very uncomfortable when I am not at my pre-trip weight. So for me, I am exercising 6 times a week, eating more salad, and taking Alli and carb blocker if we go out to dinner. I don't think I'll keep on taking Alli once I achieve my weight goal, but I hope it will help me get rid of these stubborn lbs. |

I recently tried Duramine, it is perscription and you have to be really overweight to get it. I am probably 5 kilos overweight, so i couldn't get so i went halves with my gf who was perscribed it. i took one a day for like 6 days and lost 3 and a half kilos. so it works but i stopped it as the side effects were very overwhelming for me, i have heard it is banned in some countries and I know someone has died from it in Autralia for using it. anyway basically it is legal speed, and i WONT be using it again. but my gf who is perscribed it has lost 17 kilos so far. |

Hi: I lost 40 pounds 4 years ago. I was first on Atkins and now on a low glycemic diet. I have not used pills except for carb blockers before large meals and have kept the weight off.
Good luck you can do it! |
