but still gives a nice finish. I use mineral veil but that really gives me a really dry look and that would be ok if I was young, but in my late forties that just makes me look older!! Rolling Eyes Are the T leclerc powders any good? Any suggestions would be welcome. thanks

I really LOVE caron but it's a bit hard to find. If you're looking for sheer translucent I recomment Caron, Cle de Peau and Laura Mercier. However for a bit of coverage on top LM's Mineral Powder is also great and leaves a very healthy glow as LM's loose setting powder leaves me a bit on the matter side. Cle de Peau is very translucent and is great for setting and Caron has a very very slight hint of color and is my first choice for either setting or touching up.

Are you looking for a finishing powder or a mineral foundation? I've found that, given my "mature" skin, just the mineral foundation alone gives best results, since it leaves a bit of glowiness. LM is very nice in that regard, as is Jane Iredale.

Either way, I find that doing a bit of a mist afterwards helps combat the dry look that so many powders impart. I like to look matte and oil-free but not totally dry and dusty, and I find that spritzing rosewater on can help - but my mascara isn't waterproof so I have to be very careful where I aim the spritzer or I'm an instant raccoon!

Definitely go for Laura Mercier's mineral powder as it so light. I do not use powder as I find its aging but in a make over at counter this powder was applied to my face and I was very tempted to buy it but I find that their make up is enough for me. You should go and have a free make over and go out and see how it is after a few hours. I think that it is a bad idea to purchase there and then as light in the shop is very different to daylight

I also like laura mercier but benefit's georgia is also a nice, not-too-matte powder.

I was going to suggest Cle de Peau loose powder and if you want more of a sheen, then get Chanel base...it's in a jar and you put it on before foundation...it's a thick texture but you put on very little and then use your loose powder and I think that would settle that problem.

I highly recommend Jane Iredale's PurePressed Base MMU. It works as a powder, light foundation, and sunscreen. It leaves my face looking dewy and glowy, and not matte or oily. A light mist afterward with a hydrosol or moisture spray sets it perfectly. The only drawback is that I find I need to reapply/refresh it every 3 hours or so.

If you want a cheaper version that laura Mercier, Lumierre is nice with loads of choice of finishes and shades - you can be as glowy as you like. MAD also do some good finishing powders that looks glowy - silk veil is nice.

My favourite has to be Guerlain's Meteorites Powder. It's very sheer and fine, gives a glowing effect that never look dull.

I tried T leclerc powders, which is good.
Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown are good too.
But I like BB's color more.

Guerlain Meteorites Powder is good, but I use it as a finishing powder to make face brighter.

I love Guerlain Meteorites, but it is not a powder that provides any coverage.

For a loose powder, I've used T. LeClerc in the shade Nacre and liked it. Nacre is the lightest shade and it's neutral in undertone.

I agree - Estee Lauder lucidity powder - you don't need very much at all. The brush is worth investing in as well. Don't use the applicator it comes with.

Smashbox has a new powder available called Halo. It's a finely milled powder with a natural glowy finish. It's got vitamins and antioxidants in it. Oil, talc and paraben free. It's infused with encapsulated water so it won't accentuate lines or wrinkles and it's suppose to help hydrate your skin. It comes in 4 shades. It's only available for the first year through QVC, they have exclusive rights. It's on advance orders right now and will ship December 7th. There's also a 30 day refund in case it's not for you. I saw the product launch and it looks beautiful. I have 2 on order.

I just bought Guerlain Parure Compact Foundation and I love it. It gives enough coverage and won't leave me with chunky powder-like face. Right now I'm using it with NARS makeup primer and it works fine but I really want to try it with the Guerlain gold makeup primer Smile

Cle de peau is one of my fav. as well. You can try their gentle makeup base (comes with SPF) and the translucent loose powder. They work perfectly fine together and you don't actually need their foundation unless you are looking for high coverage.
