Hi Ladies,
I need to seek treatment from a dermatologist for several suspicious looking moles. I am fair skinned with lots of past sun damage when I was younger. I thought I would try and schedule an appointment with a Dr who specializes in medical dermatology as well as cosmetic dermatology. After calling around to different providersi have found I have to wait months for an appt to get my moles checked. Cosmetic appoitments are much easier to schedule. I found a cosmetic dermatologist whose credendtials are very impressive but she charges $250 for a consultation! And this does not apply to any treatments I decide to have. Is this the norm?? |

Where are you located? After being diagnosed, treated and cured of Melanoma in June 2000, I go to "The Skin & Cancer of Arizona". Dr. Burrell Wolk is an excellent Physician in this skin cancer field. In addition, I know for sure that he offers skin treatment and care on the "cosmetic" side of the field too. I have worked with his people on some of the formulas that I have developed including my Moisturizing Self Tanning Spray.
If you are near Phoenix, Arizona, this office is located in Chandler, which is about 25 miles south of Phoenix.
I would highly recommend them....and I would DEFINITELY recommend having the moles checked. Don't wait. I would not be alive today if I had waited any longer to get my moles checked!

Yikes! You've made me appreciate my HMO all the more. I had a growth on my eyelid and my primary referred me to an eye surgeon to have it removed. I was afraid the removal would be denied "for cosmetic reasons" but my doc said it should be removed before it interferes with vision.
I got the referral, consultation and removal within one month. The growth was biopsied. Basal cell carcinoma, which is the "good" kind of cancer unlike melanoma because it doesn't spread.
Please hurry Liv I'm sending positive vibes your way. |
