How do you ladies reapply sunscreen after makeup? Since you're supposed to reapply SS every 2 hours, wouldn't that ruin your makeup? Or wouldn't putting SS on top of makeup just trap dirt on your face and cause a breakout? |

Lauren Hutton has a spray-on sunscreen specifically made for this purpose. I purchased that product, but the spray is heavy and very uneven. I just received Paula Begoun's "spray" sunscreen yesterday and haven't used it yet--it's a new product of hers. I'll let you know if I like it! I did check the spray though last night but not on my made-up face, and it did seem like a fine, even spray and for me that alone was a big plus! Also it's SPF 30 I believe, whereas the Hutton spray was only 20. |

sunscreen with physical components [zinc oxide and titanium dioxide] don't need to be reapplied unless it's removed by perspiration or wiping off.
However, since chemical sunscreens do break down they do need to be reapplied.
I use PSF SPF50, which is a combination of physical and chemical ingredients. Since I layer mineral makeup on top of it, I don't think it's necessary to reapply, unless I'm outdoors all day. Then I just spread it right on top of my makeup. Doesn't smear, doesn't leave a shiny coat or make my face itch. As long as you remove your makeup thoroughly at the end of each day [ I use jojoba oil ], this shouldn't contribute to clogged pores. |

I do not apply sunscreen after make up. I bring an umbrella with me when I go out for lunch. This is a normal practice of Asian ladies. But I know Western ladies seldom do that. |

PSF SPF50, you can even buy it here on EDS! http://www.essentialdayspa.com/psf-facial-sun-screen-lot-p_7517.htm
No fragrance, no clogged pores, no shines, light texture, easy on my wallet and a UVA rating of 400+ [details in the Product Review thread you can get to from the link above]... After 8 month search, this is my HG for facial use can you tell I love this? I just wish it were completely physical, but the majority of physical sun screens are heavy, cloying and completely unsuitable for my oily girl face. ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

That would be a great idea, but impractical for long commutes so intrinsic here in Southern California! When I walk or go to the beach, however, I wear a big floppy straw hat. It's the kind that's crushable so I can fold it up and keep it in my tote when indoors. |
