A while ago I was using a new product sample from SKII and my skin suddenly had a negative reaction-stinging and turning red! 
Thankfully my face has since calmed down but it was really scary as I've never had any negative reactions to skincare before. So i got down to wondering just what signs mean the product is unsuitable...
I know extreme discomfort like stinging and skin turning really red is a big no-no. But what if skin just turns slightly pinkish-especially the cheek area under the eyes? Coz I had noticed that happening sometimes, though there's no stinging effect whatsoever...
Also what about break-outs? Does that mean a negative reaction to the product or that the product is working to plurge out all the bad gunk under the skin? Should you wait, say 1-2 weeks, before you decide haha 
Sorry but I'm really quite clueless when it comes to such stuff.  Hope some kind soul out can enlighten me  Thanks a lot! |

This is, in my opinion, a very hard question, because there are a lot of products that can cause short term skin problems but that have longer terms benefits if you stick with them. On the other hand, you might be particularly sensitive to a product or a product might not be right for your skin time, so that a bad reaction means that it is not for you.
If you have a negative experience with a product, I would suggest stopping its use and posting here about your situation. Then, if others chime in and say that they had temporary breakouts or irritation or peeling or whatever but that over time they got over those reactions and had good results, you can consider resuming its use. Or, if others say that the product was a problem for them, you might decide that, just like for them, it might not be good for you.
