I tried the mens rogaine for 4 months and didn't notice anything. I'd be sure to watch for the side effects ... heart problems.

I started using Rogaine around two years ago. I have noticed a small difference in thickness. But mainly, it helps my hair from falling out. In otherwords, I haven't noticed that it has grown back a lot of hair, but it has lessened the amount I see in my drain when I shower and comb.
I have to also say that I went on birth control to see if the hormones would help. So,this could be a major part in why it has stopped falling as well.
All I know is when I stop using it(rogaine) the fall out worsens.
I use the Target brand BTW. Cheaper!

Hi, there! I'm 39 and I've always had fine, thin hair as far back as I can remember, but as of last May I was beginning to look bald. Well, a derm recommended Regaine (that's the name here - I live in Greece - but I think it must be the same as Rogaine). The active in it is Minoxidil 5%. Well, I started using that twice a day along with a food supplement (Perfectil) that contained L-cystine along with a host of other stuff (L-cystine had always helped me fight hair fall out in the past, but it did nothing about regrowth). The result is that in less than 4 months my hair no longer falls out and actually is fuller and looks better than it has ever before. I couldn't be happier. I must add that the pharmacist did mention that the results might be reversed once I stopped using it. Well, I'm not planning to!

Yes,lilome, that is the thing. You really have to keep using it or else the results will be reversed.
I plan to keep using it too.

I use Rogaine and the hair serum with KGF (I added many other things I do not remember all but niacinimide and green tea were among them). I have seen good regrowth. I use one in the morning and the other in the evening. You do have to keep using them and it took over three months to really notice growth.

I've read that some company has come up with a new product that has Rogaine and some enzymes that help it penetrate. I've meant to try and duplicate this but haven't gotten around to it. I've also been planning to put together an AHA/BHA wash out rinse to help penetration and remove sebum.

Hey thanks for this info, Marina! I just may give it a try--I too always had thin, fine hair and since I've gotten old, it definitely has begun to fall out. Hope it works but it seems to have all the anti-hair loss "goodies" in it.. Can someone tell me, in ounces, what 60 mls. is?

FYI: Watch out for increased facial hair growth. Sometimes the only thing that grows.....is a beard.

Lefemme,I am currently using the generic (Target) brand of Rogaine. The stuff for men....the stronger one.(the one for woman has a smaller percent of Rogaine in it). As I mentioned I also went on birth control, so it could be the hormones that are helping too.

For awhile I was also using copper peptides, but haven't used them for awhile now. Hard to tell if that really made a difference, tho.
