Hi all,
I've been using this product for a couple of months now, as instructed, 3 drops under moisturiser morning and night. I can't say I've seen any differences in my skin from using it.
I have combination skin with oily t zone in summer and occasional breakouts. I can't see that the YY oil has done anything to reduce shine or improve the texture of my skin. I'm persevering with it just in case there's a long term benefit but I'm starting to feel quite disappointed. Previously I used the YY night balm which was AMAZING and this just doesn't seem to measure up.
Does anyone have any advice on this? What sort of results should i be looking for?
Thanks!

How long have you been using it for?
I have personally found that it smells very nice, absorbs quite well and looks wonderful in its pretty little bottle, but doesn't really help for oily skin.
From my research, there's not a lot that essential oils and botanical oils alone can do for oily acneic skin.
I drilled down on its ingredients and am now using my own with the addition other more helpful chemical and natural ingredients for oily skin and breakouts. Very happy with my doctored version now! |

Did the YY night balm help to control oil? I am using Clarins Lotus Oil which is not bad for balancing my combination skin, more to the oily side, esp. T zones. I live in a hot humid climate. |

I use either the Dr. Hauschka oil or Decleor. The Decleor is lighter and I use it most every day. I use the Dr. Hauschka's when I'm very oily as at those times it works the best. |

I used both the YY balm AND oil (as well as the Essential balm in the off week) and had great results.
Maybe use them both, oil in the AM and balm in the PM? |

Do not know about the oil but the balm works and really clears skin and pores you must give everything a chance skin needs to adjust and if your skin is good maybe benefits would not be too visible |

I started using the oil during day and the balm at night 3 weeks ago. I may skipped one day here or there. But I haven't seen any results yet. I only used on my T-zone. My nose is still oily, and my whiteheads on my chin aren't getting any better. Help! |

That was the combination that worked for me. The oil in the morning and the balm on the trouble areas at night. You can an other balm in the areas that don't need the Ylang Ylang. Right now I'm using the B. Kamins Maple night treatment on the cheek and eye area. |

I bought this after reading about it here. So far I don't see any results. It doesn't break me out either. |

I think that the Decleor products are similar to Aromatherapy essential oils, they lift your mood as well as treating your skin. For me the Ylang Ylang and the Neroli Oils are enjoyable to use, I love the fragrance especially first thing in the morning before facing the day.
I have noticed a difference since using the Ylang Ylang, my skin is not as oily during the day, I just apply to the areas of my face that need it the most.
Also try dabbling a drop on your pulse points.
I agree the Dr Hauschka is a lot lighter and this too smells fantastic. |

I bought this upon reading here about good things it does to the skin. But, apart from its smell which I enjoy, there is nothing really much to it. I find it oily. |

It's comforting to know that I am not the only one not seeing results. But on the other hand, I am cring - why not me, why can't it work its magic on me. I will keep using them as long as I dont break out, and it seems like the oil and balm will last me for a long while. |

I used it today and it seemed to help with my t-zone. The real test is when I am out all day with make-up on-- that's when my oilies really come out. |

I have an oily t zone and i have been using decleor ylang ylang oil and balm for about a week now which i know isnt long enough for me to see results but so far i havnt got any bad things to say about the product. They smell lovely and soak in well. After i have used the balm my face seems to glow which is nice so i think im preferring the balm at the moment.

I only use the Ylang Ylang Night Balm occasionally. It's fast penetrating and I wake up with clearer skin the next day. |

I've been using the YY oil every morning and evening for 1 month now. I have acne prone, oily skin, and I work out everyday to boot. My oilies are getting less and less and I have not broken out on my nose any new blackheads nor any pimples on my chin and t-zone for the past month now. I also use BHA/AHA and pearl pwder, but the YY oil really has slowed down the production of oil during the day. |

I made up a batch of DIY decleor YY oil and used it as a makeup remover/cleanser, then would follow up with a regular cleanser. It was actually fairly effective at melting the sebum from my pores but once I ran out, I just started using straight jojoba oil and it was just effective for me. |

OK, I don't want to jinx myself here, but I've gone to bed wearing the Ylang Ylang for several nights in a row now, and each morning I have woken up to skin that was SO soft and smooth and just glowing!! Maybe it's just a coincidence, but my gut feeling is that my skin is really liking it. I'm about to spring for the full size bottle, but first I'm going to go to Sephora tomorrow and see about getting a sample of the Neroli so I can compare the two. |

The YY oil did NOTHING for me. It even seemed to make my oily skin a little oilier so I stopped using it. I like the YY balm, but it seems to have a "poop out" effect so I can only use it for a short time before I stop experiencing any benefits. I use the balm at night (a very small amount) and it leaves my face a little more radiant in the morning (it doesn't cause any breakouts), but like I mentioned, the "glow" only lasts a week or so. Right now both products are sitting in a drawer. |

Liz, I love the Neroli. Its really soothing and if you compare the ingredients the Neroli looks like it should be good for oily skin too. I think the two common factors are the hazelnut oil which helps with oil production, for me the brightening effect it a huge bonus, plus I prefer the scent of the Neroli.
YY oil: Essential oils of Ylan Ylang, geranium, rosemary, and hazelnut plant oil.
Neroli oil: Essential oils of petit grain, neroli, sage, parsely, sandalwood and hazelnut plant oil. |

As far as I know the balms are not meant for long term use, you are suppose to use them for a few weeks at a time or alternate nights. Could be wrong though. |

Vonstella, I didn't know that, but it makes total sense when I put that info. together with my experience! Thank you for the insight!

How long does it usually take to see results? After a few days I don't see any changes and get annoyed and give up. This time I'm determined to stick with it for at least a month to see if it will reign in my out of control t-zone |
