The Priori Smooth Lines serum has caused the worst reaction in my skin ever. My fase used to be smooth, now I have small, itchy blisters all over. I went back to the salon where I bought it, she did a patch test, but now, the morning after, I haven't reacted at that spot.
But isn't the skin on my face different from that on my body, anyway? I was told to stop using the serum for a couple of days, then reintroduce, and if it wasn't better by the end of the week, I would get my money back.
Now, I am inclined to never put that stuff anywhere near my face ever again, and I am very tempted to lie about using it. What to do?
I had to put some mild hydrocortisone (1%) on my face, but I guess there's nothing more I can do. I live in Norway, and dermatologists are as hard to come by as unicorns. The only ones in this town, which is medium-size, either work at the hospital (at least 3 months waiting time), or there's the private clinic, with a 75 y. o. retired derm. from the hospital who's only interested in getting your money.
Should I risk using the serum again, or rather exchange it for something safe? |

If you did not react to the patch test then the Priori Smooth Lines is not causing your reaction. I would be looking at other products you used with the Priori product as it may be one of the other products or a combination of the products that has caused the problem. It may also be totally unrelated and have been caused by some other external factor.
I would wait until your face clears then try the Priori again but use it initially by itself. |

Could it be that it can't be used together with glycolic acid? Otherwise, I am only using normal moisturizing products, and nothing particularly active in terms of ingredients. |

With this itchy, bumby hell I don't think I'll dare use it again. I have never reacted to anything when putting it on my body skin, but my face reacts to most "too active" ingredients.

Idebenone is the ingredient that is proberly the culpid as its a high content in this and I have read about it before I bought Prevage which has only .5% idebenone. |

Priori also has .5% idebenone, but it is apparently enough for my surprisingly sensitive skin.
Hydrocortisone has calmed the reactions considerably, and now, I look 80% normal again. |

Maybe it is the idebenone? I've also heard of some people having bad reactions. Have used idebenone myself (in combination with acid products) without any problem but my skin is tough as an old boot. I think this is a good thing
Hope your skin settles down soon ... and if you dare try the Priori again let us know how it goes. |

Update: Now, I have developed a rash also on my arm where she did the patch test. |

You should take your arm and your product back to her. She should refund you. It definitely sounds like an allergy. Some allergic reactions can be delayed (ie. your arm) - most places will refund and recognise that an itchy rash is almost certainly due to the new product. I would stay away from Priori altogether. Try something new once your skin is back to normal again as bushy suggested and do it slowly. Good luck. |

I definitely agree with peppy - get a refund and let your skin settle before trying anything new. The skin on your face is more sensitive than most other areas on your body, that's probably why it reacted b4 your arm.
I hope your skin settles soon. |

Have you tried taking Benedryl? It should help clear up the hives and rash within a couple days. |

I would just quit using this product for good. I don't understand how re-introducing the product again will be fine for skin. I would return this item and immediately use a gentle cleanser and continue with the cortisone cream a few more days and move on to something without active ingredients or at least to something YOU KNOW your skin won't react to. HTHs! |

Hi, I recommend (from personal use) hydrocortisione cream for a few days, also, Benadryl if needed.
I also had an allergic reaction to Prevage , which contains Idebenol, hths. |

I have used hydrocortisone for two days now, and the rash looks a bit better, but is not completely gone. But at least it doesn't itch anymore. I will return the serum either tomorrow or on Friday, and will get one of my staples instead. |

I've been using it around my eyes and I did notice a little stinging yesterday. Today, my eyelids are extremely swollen, sore and driving my crazy with itching. The only new thing I've been putting on there is the Priori Smooth Lines Serum.
I'm going to definitely have to stop using it, unfortunately. |

Hi, stop using the product, use the hydrocortisone cream, even up to 1 week, try not to use it longer, long term use may thin the skin (weeks of use). Also, try on over the counter antihistamine, such as benadryl.
I had an awful allergic reaction to prevage a few years ago , so I know what you are going through, hths. |

It seemed to be fine at first, so it was quite a surprise when the reaction really kicked in.
I've already stopped using it and am applying hydrocortison cream. Thing is, I have a Christmas party to go to on Saturday night. I'm praying and praying that it will be fine by then. At the moment, anything I apply is stinging like heck - even the hydrocortisone cream at first - although that settles down and soothes the itching. |
