Hi guys, I have decided that over this winter break I am going to treat myself to some face care products to help smooth out the bad scarring on my face caused by a breakout over the summer. I've heard about a ton of things but I don't know what works. I've done GA and SA peels in the past and they didn't seem to do all that much. Then I bought TCA Latte and applied like 20 layers until my face got kind of dry - I wouldn't call it "peeling" though. I didn't see any reduction. Now I am using MyChelle pumpkin peel every once in a while and I think that is helping but I want something more aggressive, like a peel or something.
I haven't done copper peptides - do you think that would help? What about the Pure Deming intense gel? I have been trying Bio oil now that my face has calmed down and that may be helping a bit. I have also been on .3% diffein for a while and never get peeling or anything, I don't really see that many results. So I think Retinol products are kind of out for me since this is probably the strongest out there and it's not helping that much.
I don't want to do anything too scary with peels but I don't want to be disappointed again..I was thinking of getting the TCA Complex and SA 18% from Julie and then maybe one of the healing things I listed above so it would better penetrate the skin. I read about dermaroller which sounds like a really cool idea but I am not going to spend 100 dollars on something that may not work. If anyone has an alternative let me know - or do peels have a similar effect?
My scars are not really indented (although under a certain light you can see that some of them are very very slightly) but they are all bright red and in a very noticeable line down my cheekbones. Some is so bad that it if I press on my face they are still there showing that they are pretty deep.
I've considered going to a clinic and getting something professionally done but most of the treatments are things that I can do at home (pretty much) for much less money. But I would be open to recommendations if there was a real miracle facial treatment out there.
Any input would be appreciated...Better skin is the only thing I want for Christmas and I'd love to make that happen! |

Try Epidermx II. My acne scars were greatly diminished with this product. |

Wow that looks pretty promising! Should I buy the oil along with it?
Also is it irritating? I think the reason I had such a bad breakout is that I started using a stuipd microdermabrasion cloth and a baby hair brush which I both heard were gentle enough for my face..but as soon as I stopped them the Acne was pretty much gone. I am fine with chemical exfoliation though... |

Which oil? You can get Epidermx II from EDS, Goldport or Great New Skin.
I didn't see results until I started using the product twice a day. I gradually worked my way up to twice a day (It really depends on how your skin reacts to it). |

The site that I found (http://www.goldportbeauty.com/ ) was saying you should buy the camellia oil along with it... |

I tried that for a year (camellia oil and epidermx) and it did nothing for indentations... but for redness daily exfoliation is great and also 15% TCA peels... |

Cool! I ended up buying the epidermex at Great New skin, it is on sale with free shipping so I figured why not!
I'm sorry it didn't help with your indentations. Did the TCA peel help with that? Like I said though I'm mostly concerned with the redness.
Can anyone recommend a TCA 15% peel? I am scared to buy stuff on ebay where some guy might just be mixing chemicals in his garage - that's why I was thinking Julie's peel at perfect complexion. |

I know you have used PC's products before but i would email Julie from Perfect Complexion and ask her personally to make recommendations for you. attach a picture even. she is VERY busy so her response might take a while.
i have epidermx II and i just don't think that it's a strong enough product to help with facial scarring. |

I'd email her but I'm afraid she'd never get back to me and I'll be waiting when I could be peeling! When I ordered the latte before she said I would see good results but I didn't really see anything...
How long did you use the Epidermex? I figure that as long as it doesn't break me out, it won't hurt and will help any healing stuff like copper peptides to penetrate the skin better. Right now the only "exfoliation" I do is by using a BHA serum.
I still really want to try a dermaroller but I have no idea why the price is like 75 dollars or whatever, it shouldn't be nearly that expensive for what it is! There is a DIY kit on ebay but it sounds kind of dodgy... |

violetdream--i have had epidermx II for a little while, but don't use it regularly/at all because i don't believe in harsh, manual, exfoliation anymore. i now use it on my body.
the latte is super mild and i don't remember ever peeling from it. plus, it goes bad very quickly (texture changes but i have heard it still is good to use).
i think it's better to wait for Julie's professional opinion instead of buying products that might not work.
i am not an expert, but i really like her apeel line, and if you do a quick search, a member, Scalawaggirl had great success on scars using the cross method. i have also heard that her new green peel is excellent and induces peels much more quickly than her apeel line.
good luck! |

Hopefully the Epidermex isn't too harsh for me and if it is, I can cut down to a couple times a week.
I guess I'll email Julie and ask her what would be best for me. Thanks! |

No. I did two series of three 15% peels, applying 4 layers each time... nothing I did at home helped with indentations. But it really helps with evening out skin tone and getting rid of pigmentation scars... |
