ww.lumierecosmetics.com. Look under the Tools. They are good quality synthetic brushes that do not shed, have any smell or lose their shape. Any of their kabuki brushes and the flat top buffer brush are good for applying mineral make up. There is free shipping for November and December (includes international). For application of mineral foundation, it is generally better to go for synthetic brushes because their bristles are of uniform consistency and stay the same after washing. The animal kabukis tend to become fluffy after washing and bristles go in many directions (much like your own hair after washing and drying). |

Alima brush is still out of stock for very long time. I really want to try them. |

It's worth the wait, I'll tell ya.
But I can't say the same abt the blusher brush though (#21, I think) but then again maybe it's because I don't use mineral blush.
The #25 - OMG...it's just so smooth on your skin, so soft. I sometimes apply my powder blush with it as well because you just move the brush in circles on your cheeks and it places the colour right where it needs to be, on the apples of your cheeks. |

I love the Lauress Cashmere Kabuki Brush. It's so soft and gives good coverage and has a nice handle. I haven't tried the Alima one so I can't compare. |

Hi stardustdy,
I'm very pleased with my Alima #25 brush which I've used for a while now. It's really too bad that they are out of stock again. I thought they switched the company they buy theirs from months ago to avoid this issue. You might try the brush from Uglogirl.com.... oh wait, I guess they are out too. I was going to post the link to it but theirs is "coming soon". Sorry . Anyway, I bought theirs as a second foundation brush and it's pretty good too. It's just a little smaller and perhaps more blunt than the Alima. I prefer the Alima.
I wish I had another suggestion. Hopefully you will find one soon. |

I'm using a baby kabuki now from Suncat. It's pretty dense too. But since I heard so many raves from Alima and Lumiere, wanna give them a try too. |

I don't actually care so much for the Alima #25 brush (ducks in case tomatoes start flying). I prefer my MAC 182 kabuki brush. I just don't get the 25 hype. |

Is it because it is so dense, Agent OO-Cat? It definitely makes it a total pain to clean. |

I don't know. The 25 and I just don't click... Yeah, it's a pain to wash. I took it out of my spare box again to try and see why people rave about it. My MAc 182 is softer and works better without having to work at it. Maybe I'm missing something? |

Okay, so after reading everyone's comments, I decided to pull my Mac 187 brush out (which I purchased a while back and never got around to using ) and have to say that I actually prefer it to the Alima brush. I notice I get a MUCH lighter application of MMU and/or pearl primer which is great. I may have to spring for the 182 now! |

I use both the Alima 25 and the Lumiere Kabuki. I find that the Alima brush gives me fuller coverage and the Lumiere brush a lighter coverage. If I don't watch it, I sometimes overapply with the Alima. But when I want full coverage, I'm not patient enough to go with layer after layer after layer (repeat a few more times) with the Lumiere.
Oh, and because they're both pretty dense, it's nice to have a spare when the other one is drying out after washing. |

By far and away the Alima #25 is my all-time favorite. It makes my MMU feel so creamy, and it is just so soft. Before I got my Alima #25 I thought that Urban Decay had the softest brushes ever, but Alima is even better than UD, and the prices are so reasonable too! I hope they come back in stock soon!
In the meantime, I also have a UGloGirl buffer brush and I like it quite a bit--- almost as much as the Alima #25, so you might want to give it a shot while you are waiting for Alima and Lumiere to restock. Here's the link:

For travel and touch-up purposes I've been DYING to get my hands on Too Faced's luscious retractable kabuki (just look at this baby: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P190257&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=4225 ) but my local Sephora is out of stock, boo hiss! |

Anyone know if this is this the only retractable kabuki on the market that is soft? A couple of years ago I remember searching for one and I almost went for Sephora's retractable powder brush but it was too floppy. Not really a kabuki style. I might stop by Sephora and check this Too Faced one out. It might very well be the one I've been searching for. |

I have several brushes from many different companies both natural and synthetic and by far my favorite is Prescriptives Flatop buffer. As a bonus it has a lifetime guarantee. |
