I used to have pretty good normal/dry skin with minor acne dart spots on my face. Decided to use retinol and night to improve them. 2 weeks later, I noticed that my skin started to peel a little and so I did AHA scrubbing and it totally burned by face!! It's still in the recovery BUT weird thing is...
Before I used retinol, scars from minor acne used to heal with in a week, but now.. i noticed that now, they swell to twice the size and takes much longer to heal. and when it does heal, I get hypopigmented rim around it. Before it used to get darker.
Has anyone experienced similar thing? Do you think retinol ruined my skin? Everything just react wrong on my face ever since then!!! HELP! |

The combination of the retinol and AHA rubbing has totally over sensitised your skin. Just use very mild products for about a month until your skin recovers and you could then start the retinol again very slowly (twice a week) and gradually increase the usage over a period of time. Retinol can make your face peel but you should use a non oily moisturiser not AHA. |
