I have used estee lauder, clinique, origins, lancome, and shishedo. I did not like clinique, it was too harh on my skin type, estee i did not see much difference with on my skin, origins was also very mild and non irritating but no results.
Do you like shishedo or lancome better in terms of their skin care produts. Any products worked for you?
I recently ordered from CellulaR products (their C, relax a line and bright eye). I am hoping to see better more visible results.
Please share your favorite skin care brands, their effectiveness and your experiences with them. |

I read a lot of raves about shishedo sun block on this forum. I decided to atlast get it, since my clinique sunblock was finishing and i needed a different one. I went and bought it last week. I am totally loving the product. It gets completely absorbed in the skin leave no white stuff behind is not greasy. It has a nice smell to it and its the max SPF i have ever used (i have the spf 55). I have not noticed any break out yet. I have a very sensitive reactive kinda skin. I feel safe wearing it when i am outdoors in the sun.
Thankyou to this forum and all of you for making good recommandations. |

From the mainstream products I have heard that Lancome and shishedo are the best systems to use. As for everything else its a minefield I am learning a lot on this forum though!! ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

I have only ever been short term happy with any dept store products (with the exception of Sacks & NM in the US & Holt Renfrew in Canada). I don't know why that's so - I haven't had reactions just no real changes. I agree that if you follow this forum & the products review one that you will be impressed. The descriptions heading the individual products are really helpful too because you can choose anything from natural ingredients to the maybe more intense "cosmeceutical" ranges. Good luck & have fun on your quest! |

I've heard good things about Jan Marini and MD Forte. Haven't tried them yet, although I keep eyeing the JM Bioclear. |

Hi, I have tried shishedo and found that it was too fragranced for me. Perfume in skincare can be too irritating and so I try to avoid that. Right now, I am using some Skinceuticals, Biomedic, and DDF. I like products that you can't buy in a department store because the ingredient concentrations are not as high- so it takes longer to see results. |

I have used Lancome absolue moisturizer mainly because it had SPF in it already. I love the way it feels but am definitely ready to try something else. Looking into the Dr. H products or decleor, these are all new to me. I posted this question before but would still love to hear what "over 40" people use on their skin as a moisturizer. Have ordered vitamin c and hear only positive things about that. Good luck! |

I must be Sheseido's biggest Pureness Facial Foam fan!!! I started using their clenser since I was 15 (I'm 28 now!!) and not only has the price gone up throughout these years but also the packaging has changed!!!
If you have oily skin, then Sheseido's Pureness range is the way to go. Their facial wash smells divine ( in fact, the older line smelt MUCH nicer and I always got asked what loevely perfume I was wearing instead!!) and the BEST bit about it is the way it washes of squeky clean and doesn't leave that awful still-oily-feeling on my face.
Their moisturizer is also quite good but I'm a bit doubtful about their toner.
Hope that helps! |

I always find it very hard to talk in terms of which skincare brand is the most effective. My experience has been that most lines have at least one product that I end up really liking. So I tend to hop across the different lines and pick out just certain products from their range. I think overall, I have more faves amongst the natural skincare products and salon brands rather than dept store brands like Lancome, Shiseido etc

thanx for sharing ....guys. its always interesting to read other ppl's experiences with diff products.
speaking of which...i went and bought L'Occitane's shea butter (SB) for body, also 100% verbina shea butter for lips, cuticals, elbow etc and their shea butter soap (lemon smell) and dandruff shampoo...as for now I have used their body butter (20% pure SB) and the 100% SB for lips and cuticals etc. i really like it except it kinda stinks of butter....the smell is not extremely strong but enough that i can smell it all day....
I am still waiting on my cellurR products to arrive. will report on that after i use them. |

For my skin, effective skin care brands are as follows:
Aveeno, Cetaphil, Godiva Natural Skin Care, Neutrogena and Nivea
I go for products that are non comedogenic, oil free and hypo allergenic..but of course.. as long as they work and continue to give me excellent results! |

I just love the Verbena L'Occitane soaps and Bath Cream, if you find it to highly perfumed what about the Fig or the Milk. |

Dr.Hauschka work very well with my skin. In only a few days my complexion cleared up in a wonderful way. I was quite surprised while usually it take 1 month to know if the products are working. (my skin is dry but with some pimples) |

I agree with Mabsy in that I find products that I like in each skincare line. I tend to gravitate towards all natural and fragrance free since my skin is so sensitive.
The brands I find consistenly good are DDF, Phytomer, Dr. H and Shisedo, even if it is sold in dept stores!
Aveeno lotion is my all time drugstore brand... |

Update: I am enjoying my CellulaR products that i ordered not long ago (I ordered C serum, relax a line and bright eye). I recieved it in 3-4 days. I am not finding the C serum drying out my skin. I already see it evening out the skin somewhat....(its been a week since i am using it). The relax a line i use it on my forehead and on my laugh lines. It does tighten the skin immediately. I hope it will help smooth out the lines. The eye bright also tightens the skin under my eyes and i have not seen major change up till this point. I think i need something moisturzing.
I am also using godiva on my arms (starting from there to see make sure it does not breaks me out), I got a major tan from being on the beach and i want to come back to my origincal complexion. I have started this product today. Will keep you updated.
L'Occatane produts that i got. I like the pure shea butter for my chapped dry lips and i also put it on the dry spots on my body (i get bluish marks sometimes from dryness). Their 25% shea butter body cream is also rich and moisturzing. I just find it a hassel to apply it after each shower. I think i am pretty lazy. ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

I work in cosmetics, Currently working for Origins, i've worked for clinique and estee lauder, Origins is all natural. but the produces are made from essintal oils which to me are harsh, since i have sensitive skin. Clinique has some good produce, (not the three step) I love Estee Lauder, Idealist is the best thing i've tried, Takes away my redness in mins. Lancome, i'm not to sure about if you read the back, lots of there products have alcohol. Which is drying to the skin, I've heard that Loreal and Lancome are made in the same factory, and if you compare and few of their products loreal and lancome are 99% the same ingredients, you can get a $17 cream from Loreal and pay $68 at lancome, so I think every line has something good, just research a little more ![Wink](images/smiles/wink.gif) |

Hi All,
I agree with most, I do prefer the natural skin care lines the best. I LOVE Jurlique, Earth Science Beta Ginseng, Phytomer, Dermalogica and my good ol' faithful, Yonka.
It's interesting cause I could not use any Origins products. They are owned by Estee Lauder and I just don't find that the hype is true about the products & their ingredients. Yonka know how to create products using essential oils, not Origins. Sorry
I too read that Lancome owned L'oreal and that the products were virtually the same, it is all about tarketing 2 different segments of the skincare market. I have never liked department store brands either, Clinique, Estee Lauder and Lancome were all to harsh on my skin.
So that's my 2 cents worth!!! ![Wink](images/smiles/wink.gif) |

i was recently introduced to a new natural skincare line called just pure (from germany). my skin's become very dehydrated and somewhat sensitive w. more spots and blackheads than i've ever had before. i've started using their sensitive skin emulsion, and my skin's slowly but surely starting to get clearer and happier. the sensitive skin emulsion is very light but hydrating, spreads easily and smells of almonds - it's a lovely reason to look forward to washing up in the morning and night. |

what abt clarins? i've tired their aromatic plant mask and ultra foaming cleanser. the mask was pretty good but the cleanser left my skin feeling a little taut but was fine after i slather on moisturizer. am thinking of buying clarins multi active day cream gel and multi active night lotion. tried the sample and my skin felt quite smooth after application. anyone using these and comments?? |

I used the Multiactive Day Cream for a while a few years back. I remember that I really liked the smell of it but found it a bit too rich for me. It was a pretty good moisturiser I thought. They also have a Cream Gel version from what I remember, which is what I would go for if I ever wanted to try the line again. |
