I am looking for a moisturizer with over 30 SPF. Nothing too heavy as I have combination skin. |

I am loving Janson Beckett’s Sun Block Daytime Moisturizer with SPF40. It is light, hydrating and protects my skin from the sun. Most sun protections I am not fond of the feel on my face. JB's is one of the nicest I have used to date.

One that I love and that I've been talking up a lot on EDS is Devita's Solar Protection Creme 30. It's an all-physical, zinc oxide-based formulation, which is totally transparent and fairly light as moisturizers go.
A few people have complained of irritation with this product, but most people seem to love it. It doesn't have a lot of the really occlusive ingredients that many sun protection formulations have, nor does it have the sticky/tacky feel that often goes hand in hand with sun protection. It's super-duper-light and totally non-comedogenic, which is again rare for a sunblock. I sometimes use it with a facial oil underneath for a bit of extra moisture during the winter, and usually just plain in the summer.
I'm not sure if Devita does free samples or not, but you could always contact them via devita.net and see -- I find that phone contact gets a quicker reply than email.
If you do a search for Devita on EDS you'll see a couple other threads where this pops up. Hope this helps! |

I am trying Devita for the first time today, and so far I am really liking it.
My skin breaks out really easily, and I can usually tell if a product is working for me pretty quickly.
I also really love Juice Beauty 30+.
Physical sunscreens are so much better I have found. |

Hello! I have very fair skin and have used sunscreen daily for years, always on the hunt for the ideal product. My skin is combination, and anything really heavy makes me break out. I do not like anything thats drying/dehydrating however, as I don't like a matte look either.
My two favourites are as follows (I alternate between them...like to alternate so my skin doesn't get too 'bored' with one product continuously)
- Vichy Capital Soleil 60 cream (with Mexoryl XL and SX..or at least the Canadian version has them) is a great lightly moisturizing sunscreen with excellent protection. Available at higher-end drugstores.
- Osmosis Shelter 29+...I know you were looking for over 30 SPF, but wanted to mention this product as I am really enjoying it. This one utilizes 20% zinclear without any other chemical sunscreens. I find it to be a really great sunscreen, not oily but with some moisturizing properties. Osmosis Skin Care is available from their internet website, and they are currently developing a sunscreen for oily skin too.
- an 'honorable mention' to Skinceuticals Sport UV defense SPF 45. Its a good sunscreen that doesn't leave you ghostly white, too oily, or with breakouts. However, I found it to be very slightly drying (had to use more moisturizer underneath it) so I stopped using it. You might enjoy it though!
- ROC Minesol SPF 60 is pretty good too, as its not heavy or greasy, however I found it left too much of a shine/glow on my skin.
One I really didn't like were the La Roche Posay 60's as they were all much to heavy/greasy for my skin...better for someone with dry skin. |

Ombrelle. It's not too heavy, unscented and O.K. for sensitive skin. I thinks it is from L'Oreal. |

Would have to second the Osmosis Shelter.
Remergent SPF30 is excellent and works well on all skin types. |

I agree with the Remergent SPF30. This is the one I wear in summer or when I'll be outside alot in winter (otherwise I wear the Remergent SPF15). I consider my skin combo as well. |

ultraceuticals ontioxidant moisturizer spf30 has a really nice light texture, and feels great on my oily acne-probe skin. it comes in tinted or untinted versions - i have the tinted one and love it!! (though that's not stopping me from trying others!! ) ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

Eucerin is drying on my skin and leaves my face with a whitish cast.
LRP works pretty well. |

I also love JB but I'm concerned that is only has a PPD of 4. Most physical blocks have a low PPD, which is why i've switched to chemical blocks.
If anyone knows of any physical blocks that have a higher PPD, please let me know! |

Steffers, try SVR 50 from skincarecentral.biz. It has a spf50 and a ppd20 and it's all physical!! I this stuff. It has a light tint to it so it evens out my complexion so I don't need concealer. The finish is perfect - not matte but not shiney either. It is my absolute HG s/s. The only downside is it's expensive, around $30. HTH! Glad to see you back around here ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

I am using at SPF 55 or higher... Nothing lower that this. And every single time that I go out, at least 30 minutes, I make sure that I have SPF on my skin! It is better to take precaution now than worry later about sun damaged skin... I think your skin will thank you for it

If you are very sensitive and breakout prone like me, Shiseido Anessa Town Use SPF 30 is very mild, but very shiny though. |

Another vote for Devita Solar Moisturizer for the face or the body block which can also be used on the face.
i have used skinceuticals, i forget which one but it is more on the oilier side now that i have experienced lots of other SS. and japanese SS don't usually provide enough UVA protection. Juice Beauty is ok but the UVA protection is extremely low also.

I'm another one in the Devita camp. I used to use Oil of Olay, and I had no problems. However, I began to read more and more about the benefits of physical sunscreens vs. chemical ones, so I switched. Devita feels very similar in texture to Oil of Olay. I also plan to implement someone's idea about putting a little mineral makeup in it and creating a tinted moisturizer/sunscreen.
One word of caution however: if the exact SPF is important to you, please note that Devita makes no claims in writing about its SPF. |

Although according to Kris, apparently the Devita body block DOES say SPF even though the face block does not. So for what it's worth... |
