I've used plain ol' Cherry Lypsyl since I was about 12 years old. I'm pretty much addicted to it, but I can't find it anywhere anymore, so I'm thinking they discontinued it.
I'm pretty picky though...
- It can't color the lips.
- It must taste good (I can't use Carmex because it tastes really gross.)
-I would prefer it to come in a tube, but I can deal with it in a pot/tin.
-It should protect the lips against the cold and windy Canadian winters.
Any recommendations? Thank you everyone! |

lynnec,
I just bought some cherry lypsyl the other day at a Safeway store. I think I'm addicted to that stuff too, I've used it for years. |

DHC lip cream is nice. It has no taste or smell, though. I love the elegant little tube it comes in. |

Have you tried the jurlique lip balm? In a neat little tube, very little taste, clear and great for the Australian summer so should be good for Canadian winter. |

My favourite lipbalms are the Weleda Everon stick, which does not contain any mineral oils, and also the stick from Decleor, which is very soft and smells nice, like a mixture of cinnamon and vanilla.
For emergencies, I also have a tube of the Clarins lipbalm at hand, but it smells and tastes like perfume, which I can barely stand. But it really works wonders for chapped lips. |

The only lip balm that ever tasted great to me were the Candy Kisses lip balms. I can't seem to find them in stores anymore. They're available on eBay though.
My favourites were the French Vanilla and Watermelon flavours. They're sweet just like candy. |

Hi Lynnec - Warm welcome to the EDS forum. I'm with you on the Carmex - it tastes terrible.
If you click on the Product Review Forum there's a hugh thread on Lip Balm. |

Polysporin Daily Lip Care is my new HG lipbalm.
It only works if you love minty lipbalms though since there's quite a bit of peppermint oil in it (great for me since I love anything mint and the mintier the better). I just posted a review here:

I second that- it's probably my favorite. I also really like Lip Medex by Blistex (it's really helpful when you have a bad case of chapped lips). Those are my top two. |

A good ole' cheap but yummy lipbalm are the Bonne Bell lipsmackers. They come in tons of different flavors and there are some that don't have any pigment (Vanilla and bubblegum come to mind.) I love the Dr. Pepper lipbalm but it does have a teeny hint of color...but it's very much a natural lip color tint. Hope that helps! |

Hi
You say you're addicted to it, then you probably literally are, especially if it has petroleum or mineral oil in. If you find that you are applying your lip balm a lot or that your lips feel really dry without it then you need to wean yourself off the mineral oil/petroleum. Try one without those nasties in, I'm currently using John Masters Organics Lip Calm, available here. My lips feel so much better now I'm not addicted to lip balm any more. |
