MDF Formulations - Part 2 of Trial

Dear All,

Just a quick update but I recently purchased the MDF glycolic facial clenser and toner plus signed up for a 6 weekly course of glycolic peels.

I've got terribly oily skin and break out around my chin and mouth very often. I've also got freckles on my cheekbones, olived skinned and in my late 20s.

OK, so what did I notice after a week and half of using MDF products? Well.....at first I thought it was working. In fact, I had these tiny black heads in my chin region that I could never get rid off. But thanks to MDF, it's dissapeared!! But that's not to say, the few blackheads around my nose did, so go figure!

Also, my skin DID clear up tremendously and for rare moment in time, I had NO pimples/pustules on a single day!!! Now, I don't know if it's due to hormones (I screwed up my oral contraceptive pill which I'm taking for my face as well and missed out a couple of days) but I'm back to where I started before I started MDF and I'm back to blemished, acne invaded skin.

I must admit however, I only wash my face with the MDF clenser and tone in the mornings when I first wake up. I revert to my Sheseido facial wash and Clinique toner at night before bed as even though I've been on these 2 products for yonks ( no change to my skin ), I really the squeaky clean feel of the Sheseido facial wash and the fresh, tightening feel of the Clinique toner.

I'm still crossing my fingers for a miracle to happen ( eg: I FINALLY GET RID OF MY ACNE!!) but it's still early days.

I'm glad to hear that your skin was seeing some improvement, but cleansing your skin until it is "squeaky clean" isn't necessarily a good thing. Even oily skin needs moisture, and if you're stripping to much away (so that it "squeaks"), your skin will compensate by producing more oil! Also, the "tightening" sensation that you feel with your Clinique toner is due to the menthol and large amounts of cosmetic alcohol in their toner. Again, "hello, more oil!" I advise sticking to the gentle daily exfoliation of your MDF cleanser.

You mentioned that your skin is oily, zitty, and that you're on the Pill. Have you ever considered that your skin may be like this, due to the particular Pill you're taking??? It's true. In theory, any combination Pill can improve the skin by regulating hormonal fluctuation. However, some can aggrivate acne in women; everyones' body chemistry is different. A good one to consider, which is available in Australia is Diannette/Diane-35.
