My skin looks great but it is as dry as heck and I want to only use the Exforderm and retional 2 x a week and the SS. What would be a gentle but effective cleanser and moisturizer for am/pm to start using. Before I was using things that were way to harsh. My skin is normal with a slight tzone

Thanks Dale Very Happy

Hi,

yes your skin is dry at the moment but shortly it will normalize. If you don't find it too expensive i would suggest Obagi gentle cleanser--it doesn't burn or sting.
I know exactly what you are talking about--
some cleanser i've used that did not irritate my skin on the Obagi regiment have been"
Cetaphil
Obagi gentle cleanser
Avene Cold cream gel surgras
Avene face soap
Nivea face cleanser cream for dry and sensitive skin (the pink tube) and toner (cheap and absolutely non irritating)

As far as moisturizers--
Gerda Spillman skin food
Vitamin E cream (sold in drug stores--very cheap).
Avene Cold Cream
Try these until your skin gets back to normal and you can use your regular cosmetics.

Hi Dale,

I just wanted to congratulate you on your Obagi success! I found the Obagi gel cleanser to be really drying but like their gentle cleanser much better even though I have pretty oily skin. I have several cleansers that I like but the one I reached for most often pre-Obagi was Philosophy's Purity Made Simple. It always did a good job of cleansing my face without leaving it feeling dry or stripped. My favorite cleansing combo is Cellcosmet's Purifying Gel and Activator Gel but I'm not sure how these would work for dry skin. I don't have much advice about the moisturizer question since my skin is more oily. I did really like a bit of emu oil or jojoba oil at night though to help soften the skin and balance oil production for me.
