My daughter has just given me some Obagi Professional-C Serum 15%. On looking at the ingredients list, I was surprised to see that it contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Can anyone explain why this ingredient would be incorporated into a C serum? |

Keliu, my guess would be better penetration, but that is just a guess. I did ask your question to my nurse and John C Hill. I'll let you know what they have to say. |

I finally got a response from JCH on this question. I asked on his forum. Here was his answer:
"The only reason I can think that it would be used in a product like this would be to eliminate skin oils and sebum from the skin and especially the pore area. However, it's not always a good idea to strip away your skin oils and sebum. It's a sure fire way to dry out your skin, and you'd have to apply lotion or oils once again to make your skin feel normal afterward." |
