Okay ladies! How long did you use hydrocortisone for? Or how long have you used it? Have you noticed any side effects? |

Every derm who has prescribed it for me has said no more than two weeks. So I'll stop for a month or so, then start using it again for maybe 10 days. I try to use it only when I really, really have to!
I have not noticed any side effects, but supposedly it thins your skin. |

I had a really bad allergic flare-up a few months ago and my doctor prescribed a custom blend of Noritate/hydrocortisone. I used it for about a week and everything calmed down. I wanted to keep using the Noritate but wasn't happy about the HC content so asked my doctor for a second prescription. She wrote it but commented that there was no problem with using a low dose of HC continuously.
Since the skin on one of my fingers has thinned from years of cortisone therapy for eczema, I'm a little sceptical about using cortisone for more than the bare minimum of time on my face. Now I use Protopic if necessary but even then just until things calm down. |
