I happended across this line on the internet.
I am intrigued b/c they use herbs and botanicals and seem to take great care in not using irritating or comedogenic ingredients. They are also very thorough with explaining and listing product benefits and ingredients. (It seems too good to be true...)
-and no, I do not have any affiliation with this company whatsoever-
I was suprised to learn that they ship internationally and include the price of shipping in their products. And their prices seem reasonable as well.
Here's their website...
www.dermaxime.com
"At Dermaxime we manufacture cosmetic skin care products for both the face and the body, using a selection of botanical and herbal extracts, as well as the volatile principles contained in essential oils. We take the formulation of these natural ingredients to the next level with scientific help."
"Our main aim is to fight aging and to help relieve skin problems such as acne, excessive dryness etc. Our products have been thoroughly researched for years, by dedicated people and are based on results achieved by research done all over the world."
What do you think? Seeing that they appear to be so appealing I was wondering why I had never heard of it before especially on this forum. That makes me even more curious! |

Hey, I got interested in this line because I saw a link from Carolb re: the facial exercises posted on their site. I started browsing through their products, and like you, I was impressed by the ingredients. So I emailed them as follows:

Hello,
I came across your web site and got interested in trying some of your skincare products like the Rejuvenating Serum and the Rejuvenating Day and Night Cream. Do you offer a sample size for purchase? I don't want to spend a lot of money only to find that it doesn't work for my skin type. (I've done that enough already. lol)
Thank you so much for your time.

Their response:

Dear C
Thanks for your mail and inquiry.
Since we have launched our new improved formulas we have not had the time for sampling yet – as our full production is used to simply keep ahead of orders and re-orders coming in.
We will most probably look at sampling early in the new year.
Yours truly,
Michael A Meyer |
So I thought maybe I could just try one product and they also mentioned a guarantee on their web site, so I wrote them back:

Hi Michael,
Is your eye serum going to be effective in eliminating crepey lines under the eyes? I'm looking for something that will moisturize the area well without making it greasy.
Is your guarantee only good if the item has not been opened and tried out?
Thank you.

Dear C
Thanks for your mail.
Yes – the Serum would help to hydrate and moisturize the skin – but if you are specifically looking for a product to help around your eyes, rather then look at the Rejuvenating Eye Cream.
Regarding the guarantee – no – you can return it even if you have used it.
Yours truly,
Michael A Meyer |
So what do you guys think? Should I try it?
Here's a list of ingredients for the eye cream:
Rejuvenating Eye Cream dermaxime anti-aging skin care products
Aqua, Cyclopentasiloxane / C30-45 alkyl cetearyl dimethicone crosspolymer, Acetyl tetrapeptide-5, Caesalpinia spinosa oligosaccharides / Caesalpinia spinosa gum / Glycerin, Pseudoalteromonas ferment extract, Cetearyl olivate / Sorbitan olivate, Aesculus hippocastanum (Horse chestnut) seed extract, Centella asiatica extract, Phenoxyethanol / Ethylhexylglycerin, Centaurea cyanus flower extract, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Camellia sinensis leaf extract, Vaccinium macrocarpon (Cranberry) seed oil, Carbomer, Sodium hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Sodium hydroxide
Here's a link to the ingredient list. http://www.dermaxime.com/formulations.htm#Rejuvenating%20Eye%20Cream
What I found really cool about their web site is, for those ingredients that are highlighted (clickable), you can click on it and find out what the common names are. I wish all the other web sites do this, so I will not have to scratch my head and try to figure out what I'm reading.
If anyone has tried their products, please post your experience. I so far found that they responded to my inquiries promptly. They're located in S. Africa. The prices include shipping, and they will refund your money in 30 days if you're not happy with the products. I am itching to try since I have not yet found my HG eye cream. |

Have you ordered this yet? Dying to know how it is. Prices seem almost cheap (gasp) and they include shipping! |

I've tried a few of the products such as the Rejuvenating Eye Cream (which is more like a slightly opaque lotion, IMHO), Rejuvenating Serum (which is slightly thicker than the eye cream and not at all opaque) and Cellumend. |

The eye cream, to me, seemed more like a cross between a serum + cream = lotion although not runny. It comes in a pump action bottle that is fluid enough to allow you to pump out as little or as much of the product as you want which is a plus. It felt great on, even moisturizing, but a few hours after using it, my under eye area looked slightly worse, as if I needed to apply an eye cream. Know what I mean? So then I started layering it underneath an oil or another eye cream. Maybe in the warmer months, the effect when using it alone would be different. I don't really have bags or dark circles at this time so I can't really comment on that, but I do have fine lines and in the 45 days that I used it, did not see any improvement in that area, even temporarily. I realize the majority of products take time to work but because I sometimes thought my under eye area looked slightly worse, I would only consider layering it under another product to continue with it even though perhaps using it for a longer period of time would change my thoughts on it... for now, though, I think it might not be for me. |

I'm sorry to hear that those products weren't HG for you. I had already taken the plunge and ordered their 2 eye products before you posted your experience. I will definitely let you know how it works or doesn't work for me. Right now, I'm just waiting for it to arrive. |

Hi Havana
Sorry, I went on vacation and just returned today.
The eye creams arrived the day before we left on vacation. I immediately tried the one that's supposed to lift and firm while you watch (shows really dramatic results on the website) but I really couldn't see any difference on me! I didn't bother taking that one away with me. I used the eye cream 2 xs a day but after 6 days, my undereye area got very sensitive. However, I had been using 60 spf sunscreen while wearing a hat and sunglasses and sitting in a cabana in the Caribbean, so something else could have irritated my eye area. The lighting in the hotel bathroom was so horrible that it was hard to see WHERE to put the cream, let alone whether or not it was actually doing anything, LOL. I stopped using it for the past few days and have gone back to using the Neocutis on my right eye. So, my little experiment really needs to start again from scratch.
I will say that I'm not blown away by any of them! If they were so wonderful, I would see amazing results even though the lighting was so lousy, and men would be swooning at my feet, right? But sadly, that did NOT happen!!! |

Hi Aimiee! So sorry I missed your post until now. So they didn't do much for you either? That's a total bummer. Have you been able to try the eye cream since you got back? |

I never did go back to the Dermaxime products, although I haven't tossed them out. Maybe I'll give them a try in a couple of weeks. To tell the truth, I forgot I had them.
OTOH, I am somewhat impressed with the Neocutis eye cream. I used every drop of the sample I had and actually went out and purchased the full size container ($75.00 USD).
It comes in a stand up, pump container, but you can control how much comes out so there's no waste and it's totally hygenic. I'm not sure if it's supposed to work on lines/wrinkles but I think the skin under my eyes is slightly "thicker" now. It must be moisturizing my skin, because normally my undereye area is very dry, with occasional patchiness and dead skin that you can see (ugh). I haven't had any of that since I started using the Neocutis. |
