About 6 wks ago, I came acrosswww.edenbeautygroup.com which promotes AFAs, an amino acid product claiming to be superior to AHA products.
I've recently started using MaMa lotion to address my hyperpigmentation and clogged pore issues more aggressively, and while I'm pleased with it, the seduction of looking at some newer product is always tantalizing.
Anyone know or used AFA products? What has been your experience?
TIA |

If you search for AFAs and Olivia, I remember she mentioned she was using them... |

Hi Arya2, How did it go with these? Did you end up trying them? |

No I haven't as yet. Can't seem to find anyone who can give detailed comments about them. I even emailed Dr. Pickart and the only reply was that he couldn't locate any studies on them.
My MaMa is near its end & I'm debating on the AFA but it is quite expensive considering it's an acid, which are usually quite cheap. |

hi guys, thought i'd chime in with my comments..
i just started using AFA products oh about 10 days ago, i'm using the cleanser, toner mist, oil-free moisturizer for the day and the exfoliating gel mild for night time.
it hasn't been long enough to say for sure, but i really think i see an improvement. pores on my nose seem smaller (though the ones on my cheeks are still stubbornly huge!), my skin definitely feels softer, and red marks from acne seem to be fading faster than usual.
i met a friend for lunch 2 days ago, the last time I saw her was about a month before that, and she commented how good my skin looked and how she could hardly see my red marks.
so far i'm very happy with AFA, I did not have any kind of peeling or flakiness at all, and yet some exfoliation does seem to be going on judging by the condition of my skin. no breakouts either (except for that mandatory TOTM pimple )
i will be sticking with this until i run out (*she says resolutely!*). you only need small amounts so i'm guessing it'll easily last 3 months, maybe 4. the toner mist will probably run out first i think, because i'm a bit spritzer-happy, but the others should last longer.
oh, and i bought the products for a good deal from an e-Bay seller because I had problems finding online sellers who's willing to ship internationally.

The before and after photos are pretty impressive on the website. |

hi havana
well, it seems like my skin just can't seem to tolerate any acids even AFAs which are supposedly milder than AHAs. After about a month using AFAs my skin started to get blotchy and red again (like it did when i tried alpha hydrox souffle although not as bad this time). i got scared and since i already had 302 products in my stash i started using them almost 2 weeks ago(i was supposed to use them after i finish the AFAs...oh i have been a BAD girl!!)
FWIW i do think the AFA products are good, definitely milder than AHAs but with noticeable results. for those who can't tolerate AHAs or who wants milder exfoliation and whose skin is tougher than mine i would recommend them. i will now pass my products on to my hubby, hopefully he will have better luck than me.
(i am loving the 302 though!!)
