Can you sweet ladies point me in the direction of a very pale liquid or creme foundation. I do have some melasma so it needs to be more than just a sheer foundation.
I am pasty and all foundations seem to be too pinky or orangy. I have tried all drugstore brands, my bathroom counter looks like a burial ground. LOL
I do not like mineral makeup so any help would be awesome. |

What about MAC? They have a variety of shades. |

Honestly, I've given up the search for a liquid foundation for my pale skin that will actually cover anything. There are some brands that have light enough shades, like Chanel, but I find that they are too pale to give any cover beyond evening out the skin tone if the discolouration isn't very strong. I will keep an eye on this thread though, in case something turns up that I haven't already checked out. |

I think you will get better results by switching to mineral makeup...they have a larger variety of shades. I think you could benefit from the Meowcosmetics.com lightest range, where they have about 10 different shades of your coloring.
If you still want to use a liquid, you can always mix the foundation with moisturizer, or so.
Otherwise, professional makeupartist use brands like cinema secret, graftobian and joe blasco, which have a enormous range of colors. They can be purchased at camerareadycosmetics.com |

I am very pale and have always had good luck with Lancome foundations. Meow MM is great too...their lightest color is too light for even me, which is unheard of! |

Hi Pippi! I know exactly what you mean--- before I discovered MMU my bathroom was basically a graveyard too. Unfortunately I never found a liquid foundation that came even CLOSE to being a good match--- Lancome, Estee Lauder, L'Oreal, etc were all way too dark. I know you said that you don't like MMU, but you might want to give it another chance. I basically spent my whole life having some sort of foundation line because I never got a good match, and now all of the sudden the make up I use is such a good match, people literally don't think I'm even wearing it! Alima has some great colors for people like us, and Lumiere actually sells pure white powder that you can mix into any of their shades to make it lighter if need be.
However, if you still really crave a liquid, you might want to take a look at Illuminare. I couldn't use their stuff because it was TOO full coverage, however, if I remember correctly their lightest shade was a decent match for me. HTH! |

Hi Pippi. I have recently tried from UK QVC a foundation from US brand Global Goddess by Shalini Vadhera - Complexion Perfection Duo, which is foundation and concealer in one. Loved the creamy texture, much easier to blend than liquid foundations and gives a good coverage. Sadly I had to return mine, it was a bit light for me. I'm pale, have bought the lightest shades in most foundations (MAC, Chanel, GIORGIO ARMANI, Estee Lauder and so on). So anybody with truly pale Celtic skin, who can't find any foundation pale enough could give a try with this one. As I said that I found it a little greasy for too oily skin. Or if I am on a "hunt" for a new foundation (I am never loyal to the same one), I go to beauty stores and ask for samples. Not all of them offers ones, but I always have some small containers with me in that case and they don't might to "pump" some foundation into them...

Hi Pippi! I've actually had the best luck with Prescriptives Foundation. The consultants there have worked wonders in matching my skin tone, and if they do not have a color that matches your tone, they will create one for you. I started using them about 14 years ago, and have tried other brands. I keep coming back to Prescriptives because the color matches so well, and it doesn't cause me to break out as other foundations have. Good Luck..HTH!! |

Thanks ladies!
I do find I need a more coverage foundation and most pale shades seem to be so transparant. Or the ones that provide coverage seem to run a bit darker and sit like a mask. Yuck!
I have tried Prescriptives a couple of years ago and the girl at the counter did finally settle on one and while it was not perfect, it did work but the coverage was so light it did not camo any of my flaws. The one I tried was a liquid foundation so maybe they offer a creme?
I don't know I just want a dewy medium coverage foundation that will work.
Has anyone tried Amphigory? They have extremely pale shades but I am wondering if they are any good.
Thank you so much ladies I will look into your suggestions. |

You can also trywww.evansgarden.com foundation cream. You can mix it with a mineral to get a creamy mix.
I think Makeup alley has reviews on Amphigory. Otherwise, I think mineral makeup has more pale shades than the store lines.
You might also want to look at what the Goths use for makeup. |

Sorry to hear it didn't work Pippi. Did you ask them to try a color made personally for you? I've found that the coverage is a pretty full coverage, overall. Good luck! |

Pippi - have you tried Tricia Sawyer's cream foundation (I think it's called full potential)? It's on QVC. They're waiting for stock right now. They come w/ 2 colors in each compact. The light compact, which I use has a really really fair side - I use both sides, but the lightest side is really really fair! It is highly pigmented and gives great coverage. I think the coverage is fantastic. And, it still leaves your skin looking like skin! I like the brush that she sells to apply it with too. You can layer it for different levels of coverage.
I am really fair, so I think the lightest is as light as I've seen in a coverage cream foundation. I cant' say enough great things about this foundation! The bad thing, is they run out of stock quickly. Stock should be coming in next week to QVC though. A12308 is the item # on QVC. Good luck. Let me know if you try it. It has fab reviews too. |

I also have very pale skin. I have had excellent luck with Lumiere. Both the liquid and the loose had a perfect color match for my skin tone. I ended up going with the loose but I also use the liquid for the under eye area. Try some Lumiere samples - very inexpensive and the best way to determine if it is workable for you.
PS: The coverage is nice not too heavy but definitely not sheer. |

I haven't tried it, but I understand that Laura Mercier has come out with a pale MMU in Soft Porcelain. If is works for you, you could use it over their tinted moisturizer for heavier coverage. |

I actually hate the idea of products sold the way avon and mary kay does, but mary kay has a very good liquid foundation.I have acne prone very pale skin as well. And I really liked their product.I even used it as an under eye concealer-and it covered my under-eye circles.Plus-never ever broke me out.I switched to powders now though,so my knowledge of foundations now is a bit limited. |

I know you said no to mineral makeup, but just for grins, Aromaleigh basically got started when the owner was having problems finding pale enough makeup shades. You might check out their makeup or they have their own forum on their site. Their may be some fellow pale people in their that can share their experiences. |

Pippi, have you checked out Laura Mercier by any chance? I was browsing around Sephora.com today, and I noticed that LM's Stick Foundation SPF 15 comes in an ultra-light shade that might be just perfect for us, and it looks to be full-coverage as well. HTH! |

You've indicated that you have melasma, which likely requires a bit of extra camoflage. That being said, I will advise that you consider Cinema Secrets Ultimate Foundation:

It's often used for HD filming, so I assure you that it's not going to look or feel cakey. |

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Bobbi Brown. I'm very pale and rather yellowish. BB Porcelain is the only thing that matches. MAC is a bit orange. Lancome is usually too pink. What I don't like: I think all the BB foundations except the stick have a pretty strong fragrance, which bugs me no end, but it's not a deal killer. |

One of my pale friends swore by MaryKay. She had absolutely flawless WHITE skin. Coverage is very good too, I hear. The compact cream foundation is what she used. |
