Hi all,
Wondering if anyone is using a product that will help with the beginning signs of crepey-ness on the upper eyelids and gives a lifting effect? I'm looking for something that doesn't form a 'web' over your skin that -don't know quite how to put this - doesn't start clumping up when you put make up on over it (like many firming creams do). I'm currently using Babor Hy-lift eye cream, which helps with the lift, but not really the crepey-ness. Can anyone help? Not too concerned about the price if it works in all these areas. |

Hi, ejthomas. Have the problem myself and would be very interested in finding a smoothing product as well. At this point, I'd take a product that formed a web or film on my lids as long as it did the job.
I was told by the doctor who did my eye Thermage that the only thing that would truly smooth the crinkles from upper eyelid skin was laser resurfacing. Yikes! My knees start to get wobbly when I think about that procedure being done on such thin skin. Granted, I'm a wienie about things like that, but still. . . |

pinky1, I've been to two cosmetic physicians who do laser resurfacing, and they won't touch the upper eye area (which is probably a good thing - sounds super dangerous to me).
felinehhy, I've never heard of revitacel. Is that a US brand? Have you used this product to handle all three issues - the crepey-ness, lifting and make-up wear? |

I would look into either copper peptides. Eye products that really seem to have great feedback are cellular skin rx's eyebright treatment, and psf's stimuColl-C. |

What is a properly formulated dmae ? In some sites, they just suggest adding a certain amount of dmae to a base cream, and avoid using it with vitamin c. |

I have been used both skincarecentral's and Candessence's DMAE on my upper eyelids with no problems, but I don't think I have crepey eyelids.
I have droopy eyelids and the DMAE lifed my upper eyelids. |

I'm pretty sure dmae amine should be about 3%,
and i think bitrate has to be a larger percentage to be most effective.(sorry, I don't have the exact numbers).
I do know the study was done by johnson and johnson.
"The role of dimethylaminoethanol in cosmetic dermatology.
Am J Clin Dermatol. 2005;6(1):39-47. Grossman R.
Johnson and Johnson Consumer Products Worldwide, Skillman, NJ 08558
there may be some info on the boards here -
I do know this doesn't work for everyone, and some (myself included) can get results with an even smaller percentage.
it's also my understanding that in addition to immediate results, there are also some longer term benefits.
(sorry if that's clear as mud - i'm a bit weary and ready for bed). |

I had a lot of problems with crepey, sagging, hooded lids and baggy undereye area, but my eyes are sooooo much better now. Every one of those problems has improved dramatically, especially the hooded lids and crepeyness. I started to see dramatic improvement when I added Vit. C. I think the DMAE is helping a lot too. I like PSF's stimucoll in the morning, followed by a moisturizer with sunscreen. I use DMAE at night, followed by PSF's Berry Beneficial and super hydrating eye cream. I also think that vitamin supplements and changing to a healthier diet w/ lots of water have played a huge role in improvement overall.

I would use either copper peptides or PSF's Cranberry Lift Gel. |

I've been trying out the Gatineau Defi-Lift eye cream, which is supposed to tighten and firm the whole eye area. It's early days as I've only been using it for about a month or so, but haven't seen any signs of improvement yet . |

What helped me was the PSF cranberry serum-firming as well. Not moisturizing enough by itself, but the hydrating cream is excellent. I'm a little leery about drying effects of dmae around the eyes..anyone else with eyelid crepyness use it on eyelids as well? |

I've been using the skincentral DMAE around eyes daily and not had they drying problem at all (I did with others, even the weak Reviva DMAE). I don't know if it's the other ingredient in this formula (cistus hdyrosol sp?) or what, but I'm getting a nice smooth finish top and bottom eye lids. I have added a dab of CeraVe cream to my routine recently(around eyes too), so maybe this is helping dryness too. |

I use Candy's 6% DMAE/HA gel and love it for my droopy lids. The HA plumps the lids up and the DMAE firms them. And, over time, the effects are cumulative. So, with continued use, my eye area just gets better and younger looking. I use this all over from forehead to feet.
I've seen some posts regarding the drying effect of DMAE. I just don't get it. The opposite is happening for me. Maybe because I use it in conjunction with the Hyaluronic Acid. Doesn't matter 'cause it works for me.

I'll try it and see. I guess my fear started with alphaderma's okusil-that stuff MADE my eyes crepey. Perhaps it wasn't the dmae in it but the argireline. Thanks. |

marina -- I had the same horrendous experience with Okusil. It took me forever to erase the damage. I use the PSF DMAE, and it works well with no problems.
ejthomas -- I've used most of the products already mentioned (Stimucoll, cranberry eye gel, copper peptides, dmae) and they've all helped with lifting. If your crepiness is due to lack of moisture, Elizabeth Grant's Eyelid Restore is wonderful for plumping them back up. |

I've been using PSF's DMAE for a couple of weeks and have had no problems with dryness. I use it very sparingly around the eyes because it stings if I use too much. I wait 20 to 30 minutes and then apply antioxidants and moisturizers; maybe that is why I have had no problems with dryness. |

I have read that Neova eye theropy can be applied on the eye lids for that purpose.
Has anyone tried it? |

Agree that Elizabeth Grant's eyelid restore is like a drink of water for the upper lid (or all around the eye for that matter.) |

I think CPs and DMAE will help.
PSF Cranberry + DCX Eye bright will help with the appearance.

Thanks everyone who responded. It's probably going to take me a while to work through the list of suggestions, but will probably start with getting a bit of DMAE action going, considering all the positive feedback on it! |

Well, although I'd normally do the responsible thing and give it a little more time, I have to share my joy...
Based on all the responses to my post (thank you again!)and raves on the product forum, I decided to start with PSF DMAE gel and Cellcosmet eye contour cream. Well, it only arrived on Monday, and today is Friday, and I've been using the gel / cream routine twice a day. Already my eyelids have really improved. Tighter, and the crepey-ness is disappearing - hardly a hint, now. Makeup goes on without any 'balling up', and to top it all off, my eyelids smell great! (I can't believe I wrote that, but this is an EDS forum, after all) Will provide another update after I've been using it a while. |

I am another victim of Okusil with crepey upper eyelids. I was intrigued by Arielle's comment about a DMAE/HA gel from Candessence. Is this one product which combines both or are you using both of the serums in sequence which are offered on her website?? |
