All right, well I have not tried this but I've seen it here in the US on QVC, I think. I would not use this stuff because the lady that sells it and I have differing opinions on what nails should be like. She did this demo where (and I'm gonna use capitals here) SHE BENT HER NAIL COMPLETELY OVER TO THE TIP OF HER FINGER then gleefully exclaimed 'that's what we want out nails to do!' I was grossed out. And, well, that's not what I want my nails to do. My nails are naturally very hard and I hate it when on occasion they bend. I also don't think a nail should bend like that! I've always thought healthy nails were hard and unbendable. Her nails were also completely translucent and said that was due to the product penetrating that nail... huh? It seemed to me that her product would make your nails elastic rather than hard.

Hi,
Nails should definitely NOT do that (ouch)
Since i moved back to a temperate country my nails which were naturally quite good started flaking and looking horrid.

I think the star oil works very well as a cheap conditioning treatment on cuticles and the nailbed. Also stay away from those 60 second dry nailpolishes (like the one Rimmel does). They ruin your nails. Recently i discovered sally hansen opal pearl french manicure kit and it conditions as well as makes your nails look very classy (i LOVE this stuff!!!)it really helped my nails grow back to its natural length with no peeling.

I also bought a new treatment from Nailtiques (a good brand i think) here on EDS and waiting to try it.

Thanks for your responses and suggestions violetanne, Blacklace, and Yen. I was skepticle of this product, the first ingredient is soybean oil with vitamin e and other ingredients. It just seems to reason that one may use natural oils and just keep the nail and cuticle area healthy and in good condition, then this will help with nail growth and strength.

Always beware of those who answer your question who haven't even used the product!! What can they possibly know? Yes, I use this product. For the first time in 58 years, I have pretty nails. I don't have to use acrylics anymore. Use the product for as long as it would normally take you to grow a new nail, from nail bed to tip. That's a long time. Most people want new nails today. That's not going to happen. As far as being translucent, if that bothers you, use a sally hansen whitener (with the felt tip type end) and whiten under neath the tips. You'll get a great looking natural seeming French Tip manicure at a fraction of the cost. I then put on a nail base coat, a nice transparent white, and a clear top coat. It looks like an expensive manicure. If you don't want your nails to crack off when you hit something, the flexibility is the way. I have no more peeling, cracking and breaking off.

I agree with Ruthie. I have used TIPS off and on for many years. Sometimes I will stray if something new comes out such as Perfect Formula nail oil. NOT. I don't know why I bother to look at anything else! My nails never break off or split, chip or peel with the TIPS solution on.
