Which of the three is better?
La Roche Posay Anthelios 60 SPF "L"
vs
La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Fluide Extreme SPF 50+
vs
La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Lait Veloute SPF 50+
Has anyone tried any of the above? Let me know how you like it. Thanks. |

| I use the first one the 60 SPF and am quite pleased with it. It is somewhat oily in texture but since I have very dry skin, I really don't mind. It works well under makeup (in my case Mercier tinted moisturizer.) I began using it in the winter (I live in Toronto) when the air both inside and out is very dry. I am waiting to see how I will like it in the sometimes brutal summer here - I am hoping the oil will not be a problem. |

Our dermatologist recommended the La Roche Posay
Anthelios 30. He feels the 30 is all you need, and that the higher SPF's can clog pores, and irritate sensitive skin |

| I like the La Roche Posay Anthelios Dermo Pediatrics Spray SPF 40. It works great! The Dermo Pediatrics version is very gentle on the skin which is why I love it. The spray bottle makes it very easy to use and reapply. Just spray, rub it in, and go. I definatly recommend it. |

bkkgirl asked me to post this (my reply to her pm) since she pm'ed me about the anthelios sunscreens. 
"I tried the normal SPF 60 and the Fluide Extreme (SPF 50+ is their SPF 60, it's been re-names/packaged), haven't tried the lait yet. I have normal-oily skin and I liked the fluide extreme the best. I found the normal L with SPF 60 to be heavy and greasy for me, while fluide extreme really is just that, very thin and fluid, felt nice too. Not drying like Asian fluid sunscreens."
"Yeah, I got to try out the L SPF 60 from my doctor who had a bunch of samples. The SPF 30 isn't as heavy and thick as the 60, but nothing beats the Fluide Extreme for me, though I prefer the texture of the SPF 40 FE as opposed to the SPF 60 FE (a *tiny* bit oily feeling vs the SPF 40 which was perfect!)." |

Fishzebby, I think those numbers represent the SPF.
Paristroika, I found it on Ebay before I found that EDS also got some of LRP SS. but not the fluide extreme. |

| Yes, why is it that EDS doesn't carry this version of Anthelios? I have noticed not very many American online vendors do. I wonder if it's a problem with regulation? |

I didn't want to start a new thread so I'll just ask my question here since it's related.
I'm looking to buy a new sunscreen and it's a tossed up between LRP Fluid Extreme 50+ and Clarins UV Plus 40. Between them, which one offer better protection and is more suitable for oily skin?

I haven't tried the Clarins, but I bought the Fluide Extreme, which has Mexoryl, the best ingredient for UVA protection recommended by derms. It's not greasy. It is light, so I would imagine it's good for oily skin. (I don't have oily skin, so I'm not sure. Maybe someone with oily skin will chime in.) It has SPF 50+. The only problem with this SS I find is if I layer on a lot of serums and moisturizer, it will ball up and roll off my face. It is great if you don't use too many products on your face in the morning. |

| Thanks BKKGirl for noting that - it's hard to find compatible products that don't cause that "balling up" effect. Wouldn't it be great if an antioxidant/moisturizer/sunblock/glycolic acid/product could be formulated that everyone liked? =) |

Hi Fawnie,
You're welcome. I have scaled back on the many diff products I pile up on my face. I find that my skin can't take all the benefits all at once. So that helps with the balling up since there's not much on my face now.
My fav SS is now Sunkiller either the tinted (Skintone) or the clearwater one. The price is so much easier on your wallet, too. I got mine from Bobodave for $13 or so. There's also a seller on ebay from HK that sells it for about that price including shipping. I still have my LRP sunscreen, but I find it's a bit too thick, so I save it for water sport activities like Scuba or swimming. |

I have the 60 and 45 au lait. Used liberally while vacationing in Florida for power walking. Well, I am disappointed to say that my chest became sunburned with the 45, if you can believe it.
I thought this stuff was supposed to be the best. I am not fair......medium skin tone. I am going back to Neutrogena |

| I`m using now LRP SPF 40 Fluid Extreme and I`m not that happy with it... - I have combi (normal-oily) skin and it looks too shiny on me, however I use it on bare skin (except the eyes, where I use eye-cream before) |

| I don't know if anyone else has had this happen, but the Anthelios 60 SPF made my arms break out. It was fine on my face, but I developed a rash on my upper arms when i used this. That said, I would definitely try some their other products, because of their effectiveness and sun protection longevity. |
