AAAAHHHHHH!!! I tried ylang ylang oil after reading such great things on the forum, really thought it was going to be great. Three days later and ive got spots like I havnt had in AGES. Nasty cystic breakouts, and in places I havnt had any trouble in since my teens like on (right in the middle of- Horror!!) and around the side of my nose!! I think there is a possibility I might have used too much, but is early purging a normal part of using ylang ylang oil?. Would be interested to know if anyone else has had this experience. |

Oh no, that's too bad!
Personally, I haven't had that happen to me. How much oil are you using? You really don't need a lot as it spreads so easily. Maybe someone else can chime in on this. |

I had with a sample that I received from EDS. I stopped using it and went back to Cellcosmet. |

Skin does not purge it self. Thats a myth. Any time you change your skin care is when skin will react. So I suspect its an irritant to your skin and it doesn't agree with you. Ylang Ylang is a known skin irritant. |

Yes lscott, quit using the ylang ylang right away and go back to gentle cleansing and use Cortaid topical cream until your skin settles down. Just use a very thin layer cuz it is a steroid cream and you don't want to use it too much too long. |

im also of the mind that purging is a myth. my belief that the purging would stop and clear healthy skin would reveal itself caused me to use certain products for WAY too long (continually thinking the purging would be over soon) and ruined my skin. if it's making you break out and causing cystic acne, run far away from it! |

Hey thanks so much for helping out. They dont really sell cortaid in the UK, do you think any hydrocortisone cream would do? |

Yes Lscott but use caution and use sparingly cuz if you use too long it could thin your skin and you don't want that to happen. So maybe use 2 or 3 applications and see how that works for you. Good luck! |

I'm not sure whether my situation was called purging but I was really suffering after used such product twice only. I suddenly got such much breakouts and it took me weeks to get rid of them. The smells was good but I'm not brave enough to try that again or get through the purging process again. |
