I've been getting the worst breakout I have ever had. I've never broken out like this before. Sometimes I would get a zit or two in my t-zone area or some little bumps on my forehead then they would clear up. Yet, now I'm breaking out all over my cheeks and jaw area and temple area. Not really in my t-zone at all. Even some on my neck. Besides for a couple of them, they are not filled with anything, just mostly bumps, reddish bumps.
Anyways, I can't figure out why. I did switch to macadamia nut oil as my moisturizer from camalia oil. Yet that was over a month ago and this just happened recently. I haven't changed my makeup recently either. I have been going through very stressful and sad events in my life, yet I don't feel stressed out or anxious.
What should I do? I have to get rid of this and clear my skin up, it looks horrible, it feels horrible.
What's the fastest working tip / remedy for this? |

It's time for the Broken-Record Aspirin Mask Message of the Day from sgresnic - but seriously - I'm sitting here with aspirin mask on. It's been the only thing in the last (gulp) 18 years since I started breaking out at age 21. I'm like a Born Again Aspirin Mask Freak spreading the gospel. It's cheap, effective, and you get to play "chemist" while you mix everything up. |

Absolutely (see new signature). There are a number of "recipes" in the DIY section, but in a nutshell: you dissolve uncoated (or lightly coated) aspirin in a tiny bit of water (I use saline) and then add other ingredients as desired. I generally use honey, white sugar, and sometimes add yogurt, vit. c powder, and/or clay. I have no idea what happens to the effectiveness when you add various things, but it seems to work no matter what I do. |

It probably is stress-although you might feel like your handling it,your body is probably having trouble.I am using la roche-posay line for acne(the renewing fluid and the spot treatment)and have been having very good results from it. |

Have you been exfoliating more lately? Or added any new foods into your diet? It could be more of a rash than a breakout. If it doesn't get better, I'd see a doc. |

Try some supplements. B5 is good for stress support and B6 is good for hormonal issues. |

B vitamins need to be taken in a complex rather than separately. They will not absorb as well on their own plus you NEED to keep balance between your B's. |

I have found my worst breakouts are actually due to a Ph flux in my body. I drink 1 tbs of vinegar once a day for 2 or 3 days (tastes terrible) and that rebalances everything. It has really helped. I don't do it continuously, just when I get a breakout. |

sounds like its from the toxic level building up in your body or whatever you call it. Just make sure you sleep earlier and drink more water. And again, that's just a possibility..judging from the areas you're breaking out in. |

Usually soda drinks are my causal vice. They are highly acidic and through me off balance if I have more than one a month or so. |

I've been seeing a Naturopathic Doctor for my hormonal acne. She recommends the B6 complex by Thorne and Evening Primrose Oil by Genestra. I take them a week before and the week of my period. |

I agree it is probably hormonal!
UNLESS... have you changed your laundry detergent, or fabric softener?? It could be a reaction to something you are using to wash your sheets/pillowcases and clothes.
I would try Dr. Mist (check out the Forum), which should help reduce the swelling and make them shrink...I think it is magic!! |

Don't know if it helps on your situation. I lately found that our diet also much relate to the acne problems. The food can be eggs, fried stuffs, sugar (like chocolate, muffins),.... Or even sleep late that also make the acne problems worse. Try some vitamins like C, E, grape seed oil. |

Yeah, it probably is stress. Very bad news lately - big blow and was in shock for a while. Basically had to make one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to face over a couple month period of going back and forth with it, and the whole thing was stomach turning. Something I wanted to avoid more more then anything.
As far as my diet, no new foods, but I hadn't been eating great either. More breads and pastas and stuff. I'm trying to eat better again now and cut out wheat, soy and sugar. I don't eat anything fried, not even chips, and no dairy.
I don't exfoliate, I have to admit. I'm very bad at skin care maintenance, yet despite such neglect I would rarely break out at all, except for recently. The bumps are mostly gone by now, they went away on their own.
I've heard of the asprin mask but I haven't tried. I guess I never got what was so special about using salicylic acid in a tablet form. Why not just use straight pure salicylic acid? It's cheap - http://www.bulkactives.com/betahydroxyacid.htm |
