| hello. my boyfriend is currently undergoing tremendous pain with a pimple in his mouth gum. should he see a doc? is there any cure for it? it happens on and off like once every few months and always few days to 2weeks. his dentist said that its due to his skin problem that a pimple grew inside his gums, causing great pain. i need solution asap. thanks! |

| i use hydrogen peroxide for canker sores. you can either apply it directly (I put it in the cap and then dip a Q-tip into it to apply) or I think you can also dilute with water for a mouthwash. Maybe that will help. Good luck! |

| Most likely abscess or ulcer. Abscess would need an xray to look at tooth issues. Sometimes I find ulcers are part of a vitamin or mineral deficiency. Try dosing up on multis and B complex for a couple of days. Also Bonjela rubbed on it may help pain. |

If this is a recurring problem, he should definitely see a Dr. Perhaps an Antibiotic will clear it up for good. In the meantime, I would advise you not to "swap any spit" with him till your sure it isn't anything contagious..  |

I am with Kassy - definitely to see a doctor.
"Pimple" in a mouth does not make sense to me.
It could be many different things - some are caused by viruses, some are caused by bacteria. Whatever the reason the proper diagnosis and treatment is what your boyfriend needs.

Jeeez girl! Why are you sticking your fingers in his mouth?
Why doesn't he just see a DR. and you can stop trying to diagnose him here...How can you be so nonchalant, when this has been going on for some time? God forbid if it's Herpes, and your sticking God knows what else in his mouth..
Get a grip, and see the DOC pronto!! |

The description sounds very much like an abscess as the other girls have suggested. As it's in the gum area, this should be getting medical attention as I can imagine the guy must be in a lot of discomfort.
I would not be touching the area as this would add more bacteria to the infection. The build up of pus is probably causing a lot of pain already so you might want to help him by calling a doctor and making an appointment. In the meantime, a good salt rinse would definitely help.... salt is excellent for oral imflammations like ulcers and sore throats.
I've heard of inverted pimples (infections caused by squeezing and instead of coming out the pimple and bacteria goes in).  This happened to a girl in my year at boarding school.... but I have never heard of mouth pimples. |

That is pretty gross, you shouldn't be touching it. Get it checked out because as everyone else said it could be a cold sore, herpes, or abscess. If its infected you are just going to make it worse by getting more bacteria near it.
The abscess and herpes need to be treated by a dentist/doctor right away. There are OTC stuff for the other 2. |
