I think a mole is forming on my face?

I'm 22 and avoid the sun like the plague. Over the last few months there's been this very small bump on my cheek. It is very light colored and has texture, I can feel it when I rub my hand over it, but it's so small. However I notice that now when I put on makeup or in bright light you can see it and I want it gone! My skin doesn't look smooth anymore because of it. So, this is a dumb question but.. is there any way to get rid of these stupid bumps of unknown origin?

I kind of want to cut it off somehow Embarassed

You may want to have it looked at if it doesn't go away or if it changes....just to be sure.
I've heard ladies say that copper peptides can help with moles,but maybe someone with more experience will have a better answer.

See a Dermatologist!

It's better to find out from a pro once and for all, than to try to diagnose yourself. It's probably nothing serious, but it's always better to err on the side of caution.

Many people get sebaceous/epidermal cysts. It's possible that this is what you have. If so, rest assured that it is benign. I agree with Kassy.....get it looked at so you can put your mind at ease.

I'm all for this -- I forget who, but someone started a recent thread about a skin cancer lesion at the young age of 25! I myself have been super-careful and paranoid about skin cancer prevention since my teens, because *BOTH* of my parents have had it at some point, and I think it's important not to assume that youth = protection!

I know seeing a derm can be a pain if you don't have great coverage, but it's worth it even if you have to find someone who has a sliding fee scale. And the bonus is that even if this bump isn't anything malignant, a derm may be able to correctly diagnose it and hone in on the best strategy to get rid of it. Wink

I absolutely agree with the suggestion of seeing a dermatologist (and a good one at that). Only he can determine if that is a harmless tag/mole/whatever or something more alarming.

1st rule - if there is a change (something grows bigger, changes color, border, itches, etc. - ANY change) see a derm 1st to make sure it is not serious. Then you can deal with a beauty aspect.

I am sure it is not serious (a cysts or something like it), but only a derm (preferably specializing in skin oncology, not Botox or microdermabarsion) can tell for sure.

I usually just go to the laser doctor and get any weird marks lasered off. I had a really large brown spot form on my knee and luckily he got rid of that. Along with a bunch of annoying freckles, sunspots, beauty marks..etc.

Thanks all. I'm going to find one, though I'm sure it's nothing serious.. I am curious, even if a mole is very small and light, so that it could be considered a freckle, could it still be lasered off or removed? And would it be expensive?
