| cause an increase in collagen? I've heard someone say that they got a filler and her NL lines went away for years because the filler caused her skin to repair itself? I'd like to know which one she got... Sorry, I can't remember who it was, but it was on this board... |

Restylane supposedly causes in increase in collagen, and Sculptra is supposed to create a new mesh for collagen to adhere to, or something like that.
I would read the thread below...there are pros and cons on each.

I thought I just read someone posted that Juvederm actually caused her tissue to bind and build collagen on the Juvederm thread.

I am soooooooo tempted...lol Kinda confused though...so many diff fillers out there. The derm told me I didn't need it yet, so I still have time, and I am also considering the LED light device now. |

| Sculptra over a period of weeks causes your body to build more collagen into the wrinkly injected area-it adds natural volume to face.It is very expensive however and you will need to touch up every so often,very expensive.It is used typically in HIV patients when they get facial wasting,the gaunt sunken look...it can cause a very dramatic change but to fill in a really gaunt face would cost probably 5 to 10,000. |

| I did have artefill, the permanent filler in my nasal folds last November and I am very happy with it so far. Most fillers like resty do not last me more than a month so I was an ideal candidate for the permanent filler. |

| BTW, just wanted to share...a co-worker got Restylane on her NL folds. I don't like the looks of it since it didn't look too natural. Maybe when it wears off, I'll let her know about Juvederm if she wants to do another filler. |

That is most likely due to the person injecting it...she may want to try someone else! But I would still recommend Juvederm over Restylane. |

| I've had both Juvederm and Restylane. They are both temp jobs for me with no added bonus of collagen formation. I do like Juvederm more and I need to go in soon for a refill. |

My co-worker is very happy with the person who did her injection. I'm not sure how to tell her without hurting her feelings. She tried to recommend that I go to the same lady, but luckily she's too far for me, so I used that excuse. Maybe I will just tell her to try my doctor. I think he's very good. The injections didn't hurt me at all either. However I haven't used him for anything other than botox, so I guess I can't really be sure that he'll be good at fillers, too. |

| Has anyone had Radiesse? Now I remember that's the one the nurse at my spa told me would build collagen. She told me Juvederm doesn't do that. |

| I have had radiesse,for me it lasted about 8 mos.I dont believe it builds collagen because it wears off. I believe that sculptra forces the body to build collagen and as for artefill your body builds a collagen scasffolding around the beads of artefill to keep it in place and the wrinkle plumped. |

Your right, it was me. I am still very happy with it as they told me it only lasts 8-12 months but could go longer. I see that it would still be quite a few more months for me before it's needed and I am at a year and a half now. I love it, but the resty did not bind well and barely lasted 6 months. It also left me with lumps that are STILL there 3 years later. But I am prone to the occasional keloiding scar and it had nothing to do with the filler or injector.
The injector has a lot to do with it and the quality of the clinic. I have a doc/derm who was our personal doc 16 years ago before he went into the med/spa business as one of the first ones in our area. |

My PS told me the Juvey does tend to build collagen. |
