Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good teeth whitening product. I've tried crest strips but they didnt work. I would try Zoom but its too expensive.

I've had some bonding work on my teeth and I asked my doctor of teeth whiteners would work on that because I read online that it wouldnt, but he said it might a little. So I'm trying to find something potent, like equivelent to zoom.

Hello, Icyfire. The very best tooth whitener I've found is Dr. Georges. Find it at: www.drgeorges.com
It's inexpensive and you get a lot for your money. I bought very expensive stuff from my dentist but Dr. George's is even better. Good luck!

You might want to shop this site: www.dentist.net

I use the Day White and think it's the best at-home product. I did, however, invest in custom trays from my own dentist. It's just easier and more comfortable to have your own trays because you end up doing touch-ups and the trays last a fairly long time if you take care of them.

There's a long thread somewhere on this board about teeth whitening. I think some people were using ear drops to whiten their teeth and also Gly Oxide was mentioned. It may be in one of the other sections of the forum.

Good point, Jax. I too have the custom trays from my dentist. They make the process so much easier & comfortable.

This brand looks like a good suggestion.

I have been thinking about whitening my yellowing teeth for a long time, but have been reluctant as I am unsure to which extent it will harm tooth enamel.

Lately I have been thinking that it might be better for enamel to whiten the teeth with a potent treatment once a year or every other year than frequent whitening with less potent stuff.

From what I have understood, you can expect the teeth to be white for one or two years after a professional treatment. The Dental White from Dr. George contains 15 % Carbamide Peroxide and is close in strength to a professional treatment, as far as I'm concerned.

So the question is: How long will results last when you have whitened teeth with Dental White over a course of 2 - 3 weeks? (I stay away from smoking and red wine, but drink a few cups of coffee every day.)

Thanks in advance. Smile

I bought custom trays (the Durabrite ones) a couple of years ago from the site below, as well as 22% and 35% carbamide peroxide bleach. The trays were identical to the ones made my my dentist (that I lost, sigh).

I also like this company because if you lose or tear your trays, they will replace them for free...up to one pair per year. I had to replace one tray, and they definitely honored the commitment.

Does anyone have sensitive teeth that have tried these products? I can only do a couple of days of Crest White strips before they hurt my teeth too much and I have been reluctant to buy an expensive product and not be able to use it. I only drink coffee, but daily.

Bonded teeth are not easily going to change color. YOu are no longer working with enamel so the concept of bleaching no longer is the same. The bonding agent has a color of it's own - as selected by the dentist. I'd be afraid of ruining the bonding material with the bleaching agents. Proceed with caution - find a dentist who specializes.

I do...I found that I need to take a couple of days off between bleaching sessions in order to keep my teeth from getting too sensitive.

Also, you need to make a very good effort to keep the bleach off your gums in order to limit iritation.

Lastly, if your teeth are ultra sensitive, I woudl stick with the 22% gel, as opposed to the 30% or 38%.

Bethany - I assume that you use the trays for a couple of weeks to gradually whiten teeth.

For how long will your teeth stay white with the system you use?

TIA. Smile
