Hi Everyone,
I have made up my mind to order a Clarisonic brush and I would really like to make it my first EDS order as well but I am a bit confused as there seem to be two diffrent versions of the Clarisonic, Classic with 2 speeds and MD with 3 speeds. I don't know if there are any other diffrences and I am not even sure which version EDS sells. I just don't want to regret buying the 2 speed if the 3 speed is a lot better! Which version do you all prefer? For your information I am intereted in this product to get rid of blackheads around my T-zone as well as improved cleansing and skin texture.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have the 3 speed although I haven't used the fastest speed yet. It's a good option if you want more versatility (which I do for the future). For example, I will probably start using the 3rd speed for my upper back and chest once the weather starts warming up and I wear low neck & low back shirts or tank tops.

Not sure what EDS sells (just click on the Clarisonic link and read about what they have).

HTH.

I have the 2-speed. Bought it before there was a 3-speed. The 3rd speed is faster and is for use on the body.

Question: for those using "Clarisonic". I bought a knock off brush a couple months ago, and I am loving it. I am going to graduate to the Clarisonic soon, because I can not help but to think it has to be even "BETTER". So my question is this...sometimes with my "knock off brush", which I use once a day at night, I get over zealous (I think) and really use my brush, going over and over on my face thinking the more I cover all areas the better my skin will be. I think this is to my detriment. Meaning, can you guys tell me...am I overdoing it? Because it seems that maybe my skin is getting aggravated in the sense that I have more breakouts when it seems I have overused it. Does this happen to anyone else, or are my breakouts just by coincidence

Hi berquis,

It sounds like at times you are aggravating your skin with your brush. Also, are you using the Pretika???? as that is the only "knockoff" that I know that uses the sonic technology like the Clarisonic. Everything else I've seen for sale is just a electric spinning brush (rechargeable or not).

The Clarisonic, depending on the model you get, has 2 or 3 speeds. You also have a choice of 3 brush heads (normal, sensitive, and delicate). In addition, there is a timer that you can set - so it beeps and turns off automatically when the time is up.

Quote:
CLEANSING TIMER (T-TIMER)

For even and thorough cleansing of your face, the Clarisonic features a proprietary one-minute T-timer that beeps and pauses momentarily to indicate it is time to move to another part of your face. We recommend that you spend the first 20 seconds of brush time on your forehead, 20 seconds on your nose/chin region, and 10 seconds on each cheek. The Clarisonic is factory set with a one minute duration. To pause the cleansing cycle for up to 30 seconds, simply press the power button. The yellow light will flash (indicating pause mode) and the Clarisonic will automatically remember the remaining time on the T-timer. To resume, press the power button again. When finished, rinse your skin with warm water and rinse the brush head of the Clarisonic with warm water.

To change the cleansing duration, turn your Clarisonic on and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. At around 3 seconds, you will hear two sets of three tones (related to the Power Level) and then you will hear beep tones relating to the optional cleansing times and interval beeps.

The cleansing duration selections are indicated by three different audible sequences:

Audible indication - Cleansing duration - T-TIMER™ beeps
1 long beep & 2 short beeps - 2 minutes - beeps at 40, 80, and 100 seconds
1 long beep only - 2 minutes - no beeps
1 long beep & 1 short beep - 1 minute - beeps at 20, 40, and 50 seconds (this is factory preset default)

Note: changing the duration time resets the power level. See Power Level to modify this setting after you’ve selected the cleansing timer setting.

Also, remember, let the Clarisonic do the work - not you. I do think some people that have reported being irritated by the Clarisonic are pressing with the brush and not letting it glide over their skin's surface, letting the sonic waves do the work.
To see a visual of the Clarisonic brush action:
http://www.clarisonic.com/professional/technology.php

Quote:
Oscillating back and forth at a sonic frequency that produces about 300 movements per second, a flexing action is created between the outer and inner brushes that works deep within the pores to loosen dirt and oil. The brush motion effectively cleans, clarifies and stimulates, resulting in smoother feeling and looking skin.

Or they are not using the right cleanser for their skin. I personally don't like the cleanser that came with my Clarisonic and DO NOT use it!

Please check out the official Clarisonic sitewww.clarisonic.com You will find a lot of info there: research, FAQ, a downloadable manual, etc.

I use the Revlon model, and yes it is an electric spinning brush. I just learned through this site that the clarsonic does not rotate? It only vibrates? I have the pretika also, and it rotates, just as the Revlon does as well. I have to believe I am irritating my skin because you bring up a good point about allowing the brush to do the job for you and not to push down on your face...which I actually think I was doing. So I am backing off on doing that. I use my own cleansers, no cleansers that came with either of these brushes. I am glad someone posted that the Clarsonic does not rotate, I am not looking to vibrate my face, I want the spinning action. And my face is 95% better (cleaner pores) since I have been using the rotating Revlon brush. But I do think that I might have been a little aggressive causing some breakouts.

Bergquis,

The middle of the Clarisonic brush "flexes" - spins back and forth and also uses sonic technology.
To get a better idea of it's action, see the link I posted previously:
http://www.clarisonic.com/professional/technology.php

It feels GREAAAT!(visualize the Tiger from the old corn flake commercials) Very Happy I feel like I'm getting a mini spa treatment in every day when I clean my skin. Razz And my products absorb better after using - I think it has something to do with the sonic action:
