I just ordered Folligen Cream and Emu Oil for my eyelashed and eyebrows and was wondering if 1000 hour eyelash tint could be used in conjunction with that. I obviously wouldnt put both on at the same time, but my question is does tinting your lashes and then later (maybe the next day) using a hair growth product:
a) diminish the effectiveness of the growth product
b) make the tint fade faster
Or both or neither? |

I do both and haven't noticed anything. I'll be tinting soon - I'll check it out |

I would appreciate that. I forgot to mention that I havent tinted with the 1000 hour kit (although I have gotten my lashes tinted professionally at the salon a few years back) but I was thinking about buying the kit after the good reviews I read on the forum. |

I don’t use Folligen or any lash growth products, but I do apply emu oil twice a day all over the face and it doesn’t fade my lashes/brows. (I use 1000 hour tint)
However, I have a sneaking suspicion that C serums “might” fade my tinted lashes/brows. I’m only guessing, never looked into the science. Someone else here probably knows more about this... |

I love 1000 Hours Lash tint. I use it right before camping trips or times when I don't want to wear make-up. The glossy blue is my favorite. It does not look blue; it's more like a midnight black. (The brown doesn't pop enough and the black is a little dead/flat IMO.)
Be very careful not to get the tint on anything, as it will stain. I got the tiniest drop on my sink and it left a mark. Also, this is obvious but be careful not to get it in your eyes. It's not the time to multitask or rush.
I use a recycled mascara spoolie. I don't do my brows, just lashes, so I cut the recommended amount in half, it's more than enough. Take your time, and you'll love the results. Good luck! |

Thank you so much for the tip on not getting it anywhere! I know that sounds like common sense, but now I'll be extra careful. I probably wouldnt have been as careful if you hadnt mentioned it and turned my white sink into a dalmation sink, thinking that it would wipe off!
I also appreciate the tip on cutting the amount in half for the eyelashes. That'll make it last longer which is always a plus with any product. |

The above link is where I purchase my 1000 hour lash tint, although I havn't boughten any in a while, it lasts forever!! They also sell a heated eyelash curler!
I did get some dye on my sink but got the stains out by applying straight bleach to the spots and gentle scrubbing. Some enamel shine on my sink is now gone, but I'm remodeling the bathroom soon so it's alright
I LOVE eyelash tinting! No more glunky mascara, and my eyes feel so much cleaner and non-irritated. I also wake up looking beautiful I have redhair so my eyelashes are very pale blond and unnoticable without mascara or tint.
When tinting I have found that it does not dye my skin (I don't know about anyone else). So I clump a bunch on making sure all my upper eyelashes are covered and lay down and close my eyes for 30 minutes (or more if I fall asleep). Then rinse off! My bottom lashes automatically get a lighter tinting- but not too heavy. I love doing it this way as I don't have to mess with petroleum jelly around my eyes which can grab and coat lashes preventing them from tinting.

I did the 1000 hours lash tint yesterday for the second time and I love it. I have been using Revitalash since my first tinting and I can definitely see a big difference this time in the number/length of my lashes, especially with the tint on. I use the blue/black.
I also use the dark brown 1000 hours tint on my brows and I love it too. With my brows and lashes tinted my face doesn't look so naked without makeup on. |

I think the lash tint was the first thing I tried when I came to EDS. I use the blue/black as well. Mama Walnut, tell me about the brown for brows. What is your coloring like? I've got dark brown hair but blue eyes, would the brown be too dark for me? |

Hi, Laurabeth.
You're comment about glumping the tint on makes me a little concerned for you in that this product might be very harmful and damaging to your eyesight over time if it gets in your eyes. Just a word of caution... Glad you like it though

Hi BluesHeart,
I have pretty fair skin but dark brown eyes. I also have naturally dark brown hair but have it lightened a little with highlights. Anyway, I don't think the dark brown would be too dark if you have dark brown hair, even with blue eyes. It looks extremely natural to me, not harsh at all, even on my fair skin.
I will attempt to post a link here to the thread where member wenrwdy posted before/after pics of her brows after she used the dark brown 1000 hours tint on them. She had also used Rogaine to help fill them in but this should give you a pretty good idea of the color. Mine didn't come out quite as dark as hers but pretty close. If the link below doesn't work just search "rogaine eyebrows" and you should be able to find the thread right away.

Wow! I just bought some folligen cream for my eyebrows (as well as my eyelashes) but I had no idea that Rogaine worked as well!! Her eyebrows look great, and that is definitely the look Im going for. The brown tint looks nice. Im fair skinned, so Im debating on which color to buy. Thanks for posting that link mamawalnut! |

Thanks Jeannine for being concerned, I am very careful not to get any in my eyes. I didn't mean that I attack my eyelashes with the wand- ha ha. I just apply the tint very thickly over my upper lashes- maybe 7 strokes with the wand so that all the lashes are coated
When I applied it in 1-2 coats like I used to use mascara, I would have quite a few lashes that didn't get tinted- especially the outer corner of the eye. I have accidently gotten some in my eyes before and immediately flushed with water. I now use a pointy q-tip to run on the inside rim along the conjunctiva after each swipe. Works great! |

You are welcome angelwings. I had bought some Rogaine soon after reading that thread but never got into the habit of putting it on nightly. I think now that I'm more disciplined in my nighttime skincare routine I'm going to give it another shot. Her eyebrows do look great, don't they? |

I use a proxabrush (or whatever the tiny brush used to clean between your teeth is called) to put on the tint. I probably got the tip from some old thread here. It's a great tool for this and makes it a lot easier to control the application. Every strand get covered without any mess or stinging eyes |

Hi angelwings
I guess you'll find it at drugstores or pharmacies. My description were not very clear, but it looks somewhat like this.
Good luck on your tinting. I remember staining both the sink and towels the first time I did it, but with all the good tips here, you'll probably be spared that mess. Just remember to have some paper tissue around for spilling emergencies
