Hey All,
Here is my first review!! And M not sure what points should I mention but m trying to list down everything that i know about this product and of course the result.
I got this product Dr. Varone's C serum from the California Wall mart at $14.79
Here are the ingredients:-
Water, Ascorbic acid Polypeptide(vitc),Polysorbate 20,Tryosine,Bioflavnoids,hyahronic acid,Rosemary extract,zincsulfate,Retinyl Plamithe(vit a),cholecalciferol (vit d3),sea mays,Trisodium EDTA,potassium Sorbate,sodium Benzonate diazolidinyl urea, Fragrance.
It says its 10% concentrated vitamin c serum and its mentioned on the cover that it may tingle but it didn't at all to me. Serum is of yellow color and bottle is of dark blue color.it has runny water like consistency not gel or creme form which is actually good for me as I have oily breakout prone skin. Its recommended to use 7-10 drops of this serum.
On the very first day when i applied it after 1 hour I could see some brightness but I controlled my feelings and thought It might be my wishful thinking cos i was long b4 thinking of using vitamin C and was very impressed by seeing review of c serum on this site. And decided first to use it at least for 1 week to see the results.
Now its more than one week. And my skin is dramatically brightened.
And I can see huge improvement. But from yesterday I can feel my skin very flaky and scaly. Its very dry.
May be bcos I am over tempted by this product and from last 4 days started using more than recommended dose that is 12 drops.
and now today i didn't apply it and will apply after gap of 2 days so that effect can be offset.
I am completely satisfied with this product and will rate this as great and will continue using this.
Note that till now I was using homemade serum (got the recipe from DIY section) for about 20 days but was not seeing any effect. And I haven't used any other C serum so that I can compare this with other.
Hope this review will help. |

wow, I can see at this very moment Dr. Varone's C serum is flying out shelfs of Walmart. Thanks for the review. I am tempted to give this serum a go too, especially for the price.
Is the price you paid a regular price or sale price? |

Okay i guess you also checked the drugstore thing.
But I dont know how there people mentioned there that they experience strong smell.
I did not not at all but its very very light citrus fragrance that too disappear after 1-2 minutes. |

That's right - I did read a review on Drugstore.com by one or two people who claimed this serum smelled badly, so this is why I asked you if you detected anything unusual about your own bottle. If the fragrance is citrus-like and light, then this suits me fine. I just know that any Vitamin C serum should not have any type of strong or offensive odor and if it does, then I would not use it.
You also mentioned that the serum was 'yellow' in color - how dark would you consider the shade? If the yellow color is 'pale', I wouldn't be too concerned, but if it's a definite yellow then this means that the serum has already oxidized to an extent and will continue to darker as a result of opening the bottle every time you use it. Once the serum turns dark yellow or becomes brownish-yellow, then I would suggest you discontinue using it as the serum is no longer stable and can actually cause more harm than good to your skin. You probabaly already know this, but I thought I'd mention it again for others who may not. |

My serum is pale yellow very light and not dark.
But in future if i buy new bottle and if its of dark color can I return it back to wallmart. |

You're welcome . You can return virtually anything you buy back to Walmart and receive a full refund, so if you ever purchase a bottle of Vit C in the future and it appears 'off' in color or scent, take it back to Walmart right away. I've returned various cosmetic products in the past and never had a problem. |

Gald to help! Please let us know how you make out with this serum in the coming weeks. It does sound as if you've applied too much, too fast, and this is why your skin is feeling so dry and scaly (this reaction is not uncommon). Now that you are applying the serum every 2 days, I'm hoping you will notice that the dryness has dissipated.
I am scheduled to take a trip into Buffalo soon and hope to pick up a bottle of this at that time (they don't sell it in the Canadian Walmarts ). Hopefully I'll find it without too much trouble as I'd love to use an effective Vit C serum that is inexpensive for my hands and decollete. The vitamin C serum I am currently using for my face (Vivier Kine-C) is just wonderful, but much too expensive to apply to all of the body parts I'd like to! |

Hey ritas! Can you please tell me which area of California you purchased this product from? And can you also confirm the spelling - it is Dr. Varon without an e on the end, correct? Thanks!!! |

I just called the Walmart in Duarte, CA (the closest one to me which is still 15 miles away). They got Dr.Varon's C serum for $17.72 (or something like that). It's in the beauty and cosmetics section with the facial cleansers. I'm intrigued. |

Thanks so much, Cherisse! This is very helpful! Now if only I could find it closer to home!
BTW, are you thinking of trying it out? I hope you do and then report back here with your thoughts!

Hi Lorraine,
You're welcome. I would like to try it after I try the Skinceuticals CE+Ferulic one since I just got it on ebay. It should be arriving today or tomorrow. I'll definitely report back after I try this one.

Hi bkkgirl,
Yes you are right this is the one but i got it for at $14.79 from wallmart.
And yes i am still liking it and using it. It cleared my face alot.
I cant compare with others as i have just used the home made vit c given in DIY section of this site but that was not at all effective for me.
But i really like this one. |
