I have been trying to drink water to benefit my aging skin but recently I read an article that drinking regular tap water which is chlorinated can lead to cancer, heart disease and cause much problems for the skin. On the other hand drinking mineral water is very good for your health and skin because it is anti-aging. So, I need your opinion on which is the best quality mineral water and where can I purchase some. Thanks! |

To add to this, city water that has fluoride added is bad for people with thyroid problems. |

Our water at home is filtered through a reverse osmosis system so it tastes MUCH better. Some bottled waters do this such as Aquafina, etc.
I do not drink tap water.
As far as mineral water I was drinking Perrier way back before it is fashionable. I suggest trying different mineral waters and then deciding on which one tastes best. |

As far as a facial mist, I like both La roche posay and Avene.
I keep a can in the fridge and I have cans all over.
So refreshing! |

We filter our water for flavor, and that's the same reason why I drink mineral waters, so I can't speak to any supposed health benefits, but I like the taste of Volvic (from France) and Acqua Panna (from Italy.) Both are non-carbonated. |

Aquafina and San Pellegrino are the best tasting bottled waters to me. |

Fiji water tastes good, but I’m not sure if it will help your skin. If you decide to look into a facial mist the Original Fountain of Youth mineral water is very rich in minerals. It’s fabled to be the fountain of youth Ponce de Leon was searching for. They sell drinking water (only drink small quantities) and a facial mist. |

Btw, does it matter if I boil the tap water first before drinking? Or if I filter the tap water first before drinking? Thanks! |

I think it's best to filter tap water before drinking it. |

The best money I've ever spent was about £150 on a little tap next to our main sink tap at the time we were putting in our kitchen (so I don't know how much labour it cost) which filters water. I use it all the time. You have to replace the filter cartridge under the sink every 3-6 months depending on how much you use it. It's made by Franke, they also now do a Triflow tap which is a main tap so you can easily wash your vegetables etc.
I use it my little tap all the time for drinking water, filling up the kettle etc and it's great. The only thing I miss is we never buy mineral water and I really love Panna, a still water from Italy. I believe it's the same company/place as San Pellegrino which is sparkling but nowhere near as bubbly as Perrier but more so than than the semi-sparkling Badoit. |

I think it's best to filter tap water before drinking it. |
So if I only boil the water without filtering it, does that mean it's still harmful to the skin or body? |

Starlight, I suspect that Volvic will be easier to get. It's at several of our local supermarkets. Acqua Panna, sadly, is harder to come by, at least here in Seattle. I have to go downtown to a specialty shop for that one. (But it is so worth it...)
Good luck in your water hunt... |

Zachary: I could be wrong but I thought it was the mineral water coming out of India that has a problem since it has a very high pesticide content. Nothing against India but I would not drink any bottled water coming out of India! |

I read that Evian was found to have least amount of pesticides. There is so much info. on the net that I do not know what is true and what is false. Needless to say it has been very disappointing that mineral water could be tainted with pesticides. How much is dependent on the country and the brand. |

Well bottled water is like drinking dead water. Tap water has minerals that our bodies need. However, the water is so polluted nowadays, I would rather drink dead water and just swallow vitamins and mineral tablets instead. I didn't know that they sold mineral water in stores. I guess I could try that out as well.
Is filtered water okay though? I bought that Brita filter jug. I hope that helps with getting some of the crap out of tap water??? |
