I'm hearing that this cleanser is flying off the shelves and recently a girl I was serving who was from the UK with Indian background, gorgeous complexion and a cool 'posh' British accent told me that she couldn't leave home without this cleanser.
Has anyone here used it? I know it is big in the UK and only few boutiques here in Australia stock it. Is it worth a look-in ? |

I've never used it but have often read it described as the best cleanser in the world. |

I haven't tried this (yet) but I know that there are a lot of essential oils in it, so it might not be suitable of ubersensitive skin.
And it is quite expensive... |

LOL. I was just going to post the ingredients. I should have known. You know, Havana. It reminds me a little of the pro cleanse from KH. I'd like those muslim cloths. |

I only had them because I was looking at some of the Eve Lom stuff a while ago... Does seem like a similar type of cleanser. |

Havana,
Am I correct that you've used the Liz Earle cleanser? How similar is it? |

Havana beat me to posting the ingredients! I don't think it looks like anything special, and no cleanser is worth what that cleanser costs anyway. |

I used to use it. It's okay but I think it's built its reputation on hype here in the UK (it's always described as a "cult" essential, especially by SpaceNK - who fancy themselves as the UK skincare Oracle). It really relies on the cloths to take off the dirt - but I will say the smell is absolutely divine.
I'm currently using KH Pro Cleansing. This stuff literally sucks the dirt + makeup off the face like nothing I've ever used before (Eve Lom doesn't even come close). |

Thanks Graceless,
Good to know. I think it appears that KH's cleanser is more pure, *tongue in cheek* than Eve Lom's. At least I remember the KH to be more simplistic regarding ingredients. I'm so glad you're liking the cleanser still. I'd like to see Liz Earle's ingredients. How about it Havana. |

If the Eve Lom is similar in texture to the KH Pro which I have tried, then not similar at all. The Liz Earle is a thick almost fluffy cleansing cream. It does share the hops, eucalyptus and chamomile though and is also a two-phase system that uses the cleanser in conjunction with muslim cloths. |

Ahh. Perhaps I read the website someone linked incorrectly then. I thought they were comparing LE to ELom. So, less vaseliney? LOL |

I have tried both EL nd LE.
EL is more of a balm that you have to massage on your face. It melts with your body's temperature and you used the muslim cloth to remove the balm.
LE is more of a fluffy cleansing cream (I only tried this once).
I tried EL for a few weeks and my face just couldn't take all the rubbing from the muslim cloth. I didn't see a reduction of clogged pores either. |

I have to say the word on this cleanser is true. Eve lom cleanser is one of the best in the world. Very rich but cleans everything off and heals the skin. It is expensive but concentrated. but ifd u cant afford it i recommend the Karin herzog proffesional cleanser which is very similar but not as expensive. |

Its flying off the shelves because the "What Not To Wear" ladies recommend it. I have one of their books "What You Wear Can Change Your Life". Fantastic book by the way. Trinny Woodall recommends the Eve Lom The Cleanser plus her top 10 beauty and makeup products. The book is a must have. |

After reading the ingredients of this product, I wouldn't purchase it at all. The ingredients frighten me. Aluminum, mineral oil, parabens etc. All that would cause my skin to breakout like no tomorrow. Best cleanser in the world. I doubt it. Maybe for some who are not sensitive to such ingredients. |

I agree Sophia! I was shocked as you were. $130.00 to spend on a cleanser is ludicrous. Think I'll stick to my $8.00 bottle of Neutrogena cleanser. |

Oh yeah, it's full of parabens, etc, but it smells like cloves and aromatically it's very soothing. Sure it cleanses, but plenty of cheaper stuff does that just as well. I quit it after giving it a try to use other things more available and affordable.
The thing I liked about it when I used it was the lymphatic massage technique you do with the flannel. Now that's something you can do with any cleanser and it really does seem to keep the skin looking pure. |

i used this back in 2006. Here was the review i did on it, just to remind myself why i like/dislike a product. (grin, i've been known to try a product, dislike it and GO BACK To it after reading rave reviews..)
Summary is that it's a great cleanser if you don't have sensitive skin. It can also dry you out. I suspect the hot water with the wash cloth can get harsh.
I've just finished one tub of the cleanser and would rebuy if it was easily available. Do not be misled by the cleansing cream name and expect a cream like texture (think SKII or nivea). Instead it has a texture similar to that of vaseline. The scent is herby and takes some time to get used to. However, it grows on you
For a period, I used this every night with the muslim cloth. Initially my skin was soft (so so so soft!) and smooth! i couldn't stop touching myself, it was like having a mini facial. However, after a couple of weeks, my skin felt tight and became red and sensitive.
Changed to using this as a deep cleanser 1-2x a week. I still get the lovely soft and smooth skin effect each time, and my skin is no longer red. Fantastic 2 in 1 product as the use of an exfoliator is no longer necessary.
one tub can last a very long time! |

Amanda Lacey has a similar product called Cleansing Pomade. She's a facialist in the UK and I used it quite a few years ago. I liked it a lot and I have very sensitive skin. Unforunately it is not easy to find. Back then I had to mail order from Femwick's in London, although now she has her own website to order but shipping to US is a hassle. I remember contacting her via email with questions and Amanda herself called me to discuss my skin care concerns and product use.
In comparison to Eve Lom, it is less heavy and smells so much nicer. It does contain oils and is used in the same way but is not recommended to remove with a cleansing cloth/muslin that is too hot. I use to have the ingredients, I'll post if I find them. |

I've tried Evelom the cleanser and I wasn't sold and didn't buy another one. My skin was looking nice the first week or two but by the end of the tub I had serious breakouts! Has anybody else noticed the trick of the eye in the wording EVE LOM... LOVE ME!! clever eh, i'm sure they've done this on purpose I wonder if eve lom exists?
In my opinion it's a NO NO. I think the other UK member is right, its really hyped up here in the UK. I love Dr Hauschka and have stuck with the routine for about a year and i'm very happy with the results. |
