I just returned from the derm's office and he wrote me a prescription for FINESCA. Which I am excited to try. Which I am usually excited to try stuff I have never tried, usually only to be disappointed, but hey..got to give it a try. He was mentioning that I should try a cleanser that had sulfur in it. He said it is really good with problematic skin like mine (many things going on from hives, to Rosesca, to clogged pores to breakouts) hard to treat my skin. Even know I have tried hundreds of products, I don't think I have ever tried a cleanser with sulfur. Do you guys have any recommendations both top line and maybe OTC too?
Thanks in advance. |

302 Acne Cleanser contains 3% sulfur, along with alot of other good ingredients for acne. It smells faintly of sulfur though, and is not as nicely scented as the other cleansers.

Bergquis,
While it isn't a cleanser, I would like to throw out a recommendation that you try a sulfur mask....I have one from Proactiv that is fabulous, and I think Peter Thomas Roth also makes one too.
What else did your derm have to say today? I know you have been pretty frustrated, so I am hoping this Rx will help! |

I have heard that the plexion products are good, but I think you need a RX for them. Not sure on that, though. |

Queen Helen Mint Julipe Mask contains sulfur. It is cheap and available in drug stores and Sally's stores. In Canada, I got my first tube from a health food store. |

I think that the 302 acne cleanser would be good. Also, the PSF papaya gel may be worth looking into too. It doesn't have sulfur, but it does have silver. The PSF acne mud masque has sulfur.
That's great about the finesca subscription. I hope it helps! By the way, I think you should still be doing honey masks. So routine could be: cleanse, honey mask, and then finesca 2x a week, or whatever instructions your derm gave you about it. |

Hi
I am going to look into more on 302, because of the sulfur. As far as the proactiv mask, I have tried it..it was horrible. I kept with it and have tried it off on one through the years and every time I ask myself "why". I do use the QH mask, and it does help dry up the spots I have. I also use as a spot treatment, although not a miracle as people stated on MUA..(some of the posts on it is crazy) I had 86 pimples, applied this and the next day NOT one. Those posts I just read past, because you and I both know if that was the case, everyone else would be out of business. But the QH mask does not prevent any new blemishes, that is why I am in search of a cleanser that can get into my pores. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. |

I have decided NOT to look into the 302 line. At this time (last Sunday) I decided to purchase PTR Glycoloic Cleanser (3%). I have been using ever since and it has done WONDERS for my skin. As far as skin issues, I have posted so many times on what my issues are (were-fingers crossed) but long and the short, after having no skin issues my whole life (up until 7 months ago) I started getting tons of clogged pores, rash like pimples (itchy) and breakouts. I stumped my derm(s). I switched several times. Now I am using Finacea and Glycolic cleanser and my skin is behaving so nicely. Again, fingers crossed. |

I use plain old clearasil (the tinted one) at night as a spot treatment over my jan marini acne gel.
The clearasil contains 2% sulphur. |

Adding an MSM supplement to any cleanser will 'sulpherize' it.
Dissolve it in a bit of distilled water, add to the cleanser and shake it up baby! |

I have some MSM! I was thinking of adding it to my cleanser.
How much should I add?

If you have the capsules two should do the trick, if it's powdered, then whatever equals 2000mg. |

For the recommended percentages hopefully 'bergquis' can relay what her derm recommended..
What I suggessted, would be on the minimal side. |
