The skin along my jaw line has been very irritated lately (if you grit your teeth together tightly, it's the portion of skin that juts out when you clench them)
I used to get shaving bumps a lot, but I finally found some products to bring the bumps to a minimum. Now that I've found something to minimize the bumps, I need to find something that can clear up the dark spots the bumps left on my jawline when they went away.
I'm using Ambi Skin Discoloration fade cream, but I don't see results yet (about 2 weeks so far). Any help on this?
(oh and by the way, the shaving bumps / irritation started because I didn't change my shaving screen and cutters after 6 months) |

I would suggest you try a cleanser with AHA in it. Something like the MD Formulations cleanser with glycolic acid should help you fade them as long as the dark spots are not deeply ingrown hairs (try TendSkin for ingrowns, it works quite well). |

I keep hearing AHA on here - I need to look into these products..
and I know I have one spot on the left that I dug out an ingrown hair, and it left a really nasty hole for a bit, then turned into a really dark spot.. so good, I'll try Tend Skin and see if I can find the MD Formulations stuff.
Anymore suggestions? |

I think the most common AHA used in skincare is Glycolic Acid. So, just look for something with that. The MDF one with glycolic that I was talking about is this one.
Alternatively, Dermalogica Microfoliant might also be a good choice. It contains some skin brightening ingredients. I would combine that with a vitamin C serum but that's because from my experience those two used together speed up healing of post acne marks on my skin. Of course, there are also fade and pigmentation gels on the market that could also help. I haven't used any but hopefully others will be able to give you feedback. |

Okay, thanks for that! Dermalogica Microfoliant - and the DM Formulations.. I'll choose between which one to get.
Last question - I don't remember seeing these in any retail places (I guess $40+ facial cleansers wouldn't be in wal-mart..) - is there any place to buy these things but online?
(Although I think I saw Dermalogica in Belk..)
****EDIT****
Hmm, I think I'm gonna go with DM first. It's a bit cheaper than the Dermalogica - but do I need to buy a cleanser to use before I get this?
As of now, all I'm using is Clearasil Ultra daily face wash.. (yeah, I'm a guy so I don't know too much about this stuff). |

Apart from online, you should be able to get MDF products and Dermalogica products in selected spas and salons. I'm not sure about department stores in the US.
Is the MDF product you're referring to the MDF cleanser with glycolic acid? If so then, no, you don't need an additional cleanser before using this one.
Good luck with it, please let us know how you get on with whatever you decide to get. |

I am sure you can find these products locally, but you can find much better prices online. Most spas and doctor's offices that carry many of these prices charge full retail price...which you should never, never pay. |

if you're only looking to get rid of acne scars and you don't have sensitive skin i would strongly recommend NEO-STRATA HQ GEL.
I've been using it since i was 17, now 25 and it's the best thing on the market.
you have to have smooth skin for it to work.
In fact, it works on any scar on your body.
Use it twice a day, morning and night but don't expect to see results till the end of 2 months.
Good luck |
