My PSF serum turned a lovely yellow about halfway thru the bottle, so I'm a tad irritated with that.

So I'm looking to sample and try a variety of Vitamin C serums. I know there are several favorites here and any input on yours would be appreicated!

PSF offers theirs at a great price but if it goes bad before I even get thru half of it, it's just not worth it.

I actually came across this forum when I was searching for vitamin c recipes to make at home, because I didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices for serum that turned before I could use it up, or caused other problems

I previously tried, Cellec C which gave me blackheads and made me very itchy about an hour after putting it on. I also bought one from Cellbone, but I returned it because it was a tan color when I opened it.

I found several good diy recipes here and love them. The vitamin c serum I made is better than the Cellex C in every way so far. Sinks right in, great consistency and my skin is responding nicely to it...And yipee, no blackheads.

After seeing how cheap and easy it is to make a quality vitamin c serum, I really can't figure how these company's have the nerve to charge so much.

Anyway, I'm sure you could get sample sizes from PSF. I read a post by a member called lucyluc (I think) who buys vitamin c samples from ebay. I read that a while ago though.

Good luck on your hunt.

I too have found that PSF's C serum goes off too quickly. I like Cellularskin-rx and Vivier--both are very stable and effective. I prefer the feel of Vivier somewhat, but I actually use the Cellularsskin-rx because it is much, much cheaper.

I agree with flitcraft - the vitamin C serums from Vivier and CellularSkinRX are good and stable.

SkinMedica C Complex is very stable, as well, and you can buy samples on Ebay. I love this serum. It's 10 % l-ascorbic acid and 5 % of the oil soluble tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate in a poly silicone base. It's a creamy gel-like texture.

You can also find sample packs of SkinCeuticals C serums on Ebay.

I always keep vitamin C serum in the fridge, it lasts a long time this way.

I have not tried it but Garden of Wisdom makes a Vit C serum thats reasonably price, I think its $35. They offer a lot of different anti-oxidant serums. If you visit the site be sure to check under Whats New, there is alot of stuff listed there not yet in its appropriate place under the categories.

Thank you guys for all the suggestions, I'm going to give each of them a try.

I'll have to try the fridge trick, but knowing me unless it's right in front of me I'll forget to use it everyday.

I wouldn't concentrate on only one skin care ingredient. Choose some thing with LOTS of the antioxidants that would give you more bang for the buck.
