| I have always have nice skin until I reached my 40's. Last year I broke out for 2 weeks and left black marks. I haven't had a break out since. I went to see my derm for large pores and sometimes breakout, she prescribed differin and metrogel. Has anyone use these in conjuntions and has it reduce your pore size. I have no dryness or redness using differin. Supposedly metrogel is to keep the redness at bay. Let me know how has it worked for you. I have only been on it for about a week. although my skin doesn't feel tight i do notice that my face us drier. |

I have been using differin for over 5 years at night for adult acne and it has been really effective when used in combination with other daytime products with 2% salicylic acid. My derm suggested I use it thick at night like a mask and when I do that regularly I can really tell the difference.
It took a few months for it to start working. Over time it also helped with diminishing scars. It is very expensive now that I don't have health insurance, so I usually skimp a little. It still helps a lot, but not as much as when I used it thick. Using it every day is crucial, as is using the daytime products daily. If I skip more than 2 days, the acne comes back.
I pick it up when traveling. In Europe it is much cheaper and called adaferin or some variation on its main ingredient, adapalene. |
