Hi, jstarck.
There is quite a lot of evidence suggesting that azelaic acid can be beneficial in treating rosacea, especially inflammatory papules and pustules.

Azelaic acid is found in the prescription strength Finacea gel (15 % concentration) or Benev Azalex Gel (10 % concentration), an OTC product that is carried by EDS.

Here is some information about Finacea with references to some studies:

If the symptoms are more like itches, dry skin and erythema, Atopalm MLE cream (www.skinstore.com) would be a good choice. It has got some very good reviews for its calming properties and has been shown in a clinical study to be effective in restoring skin barrier function.

I have had Starlux treatments in the past with wonderful results. On occasion I have also used Metrogel topically.
Good luck to you!
